Important Information
Auditions are held annually for Years 7 and 11 for the following year. To enrol in the Performing Arts stream at Newtown High School of the Performing Arts, applicants must be successful at audition.
ALL audition applicants (Year 6 into 7 and Year 10 into Year 11) must apply using the Online Audition Application Form on the school’s website. On that form, applicants are to upload Profile and Audition videos, a photo and school report.
Online audition application registrations for entry into Year 7 or Year 11 2023 close at 5:00pm on Thursday 28 April 2022. All documents and videos are to be uploaded and submitted along with payment by this date.
No further audition registrations will be accepted after the closing date.
NB: As all applications are checked for clarity before panel review it is advisable that you do not leave your application submission to the last minute. Early submissions will allow for any issues to be rectified.
Who can apply for an audition?
To be eligible to apply, applicants must be Australian Citizens or holders of a visa granting 'Permanent Resident Status' in Australia. Applicants can audition in one or two of the three performing arts disciplines (Dance, Drama and Music) offered at our school.
Audition Conditions
Due to the large number of applicants who audition each year, the following conditions apply:
- Each audition is assessed on its own merits.
- The examiner's decision is final and no appeal can be made except on procedure.
- Information on an individual applicant's performance in their audition will not be provided.
