In 2026 students from Years 7-12 will be involved in a range of sporting activities. It is mandatory for the school to receive permission to attend, as well as updated medical information for your young person, so they can participate. All students are required to attend whole school sporting events. Please note that specific details and travel permission notes for whole school events will be provided in the lead up to each activity.

Students in Years 7-10 will participate in a weekly sporting activity on Thursday afternoons. All students MUST attend a brief sports roll call at school at the start (1pm) and end of sport (3pm). Students may then leave school at 3pm, if parent permission is provided below. Supervision will be provided in the COLA until 3.20pm for students waiting for buses.

If you would like your young person to come home directly from their Thursday afternoon sports activity, a written note from a parent/carer must be provided to the Deputy Principal on the day.

Whole school swimming carnival (and zone swimming carnival for selected students)
Whole school athletics carnival (and zone athletics carnival for selected students)
Cross Country (incl. preparatory runs during PDHPE lessons)
Zone Cross Country (for selected students)
Year 7-10 weekly sport (multiple options / and some external venues)
Cancer Sux (walkathon)
7-12 PDHPE activities incl. walking to local venues when part of the curriculum
Some weekly sports and individual sports events will require additional permission notes via School Bytes due to the nature of the activity (ie trampolining requires parental waiver, representative and knockout sports require specific travel arrangements).

Medical disclaimer

Parents please note, there is no personal injury insurance cover provided by the NSW Department of Education for students in relation to school sporting activities, physical education lessons or any other school activity. Parents and caregivers are advised to assess the level and extent of their young person’s involvement in the sport program offered by the school, zone, area, and state school sport associations when deciding whether additional cover, above that provided by Medicare, is required. The NSW Supplementary Sporting Injuries Benefits Scheme, funded by the NSW Government, covers any injury resulting in the permanent loss of a prescribed faculty or the use of some prescribed part of the body.

Concussion acknowledgement

If my young person is diagnosed with concussion at any time, I must inform the school and provide a medical clearance to support their return to sport and physical activity. If my young person experiences a suspected concussion during school, they will be removed from the activity and medical follow-up recommended.
