NESA assessment guidelines state that “If a student does not complete a task by the due date or attend a scheduled assessment task, and has their illness/misadventure application declined, the school must record a zero mark for the assessment task.”

It is essential assessments are completed in a timely manner, please submit your completed assessment or test as early as possible.

The illness / misadventure process is designed so students are not negatively impacted for experiencing unforeseen circumstances. It also must ensure students do not gain an unfair advantage – students should expect to be supported through an extension equivalent to the length of time they experienced the illness/ misadventure, most often supported by a medical note indicated the affected period of time. Your application and revised submission should reflect this expectation.
