A feature of the public education system in NSW is the opportunity to provide time in class for education in ethics, faith and morality from a religious or non-religious perspective at the choice of parents/carers.

The following Special Religious Education (SRE) options are available at Fort Street High School for students in Years 7-10:

Christian SRE (delivered by Sydney Anglican Diocese)
Hindu SRE (delivered by the Hindu Council of Australia)
Special Education in Ethics (SEE, delivered by Primary Ethics –available to Year 7 and 8 only)

SRE/SEE is held in p.1 on Thursday morning. Year 7 students who do not attend SRE/SEE will be supervised in the school library during that time. Students from Years 8-10 who do not attend SRE/SEE are not required to be at school until p.2 (9:40am).

A parent/carer may at any time notify the school in writing that they wish to change their decision. Students will continue the same arrangement as the previous year, unless a parent/carer has requested a change in writing.
