A feature of the public education system in NSW is the opportunity to provide time in class for education in ethics, faith and morality from a religious or non-religious perspective at the choice of parents/carers.

Religion and Ethics - Merewether High School (nsw.gov.au)

A parent/carer may at any time notify the school in writing that they wish to change their decision. Students will continue the same arrangement as the previous year, unless a parent/carer has requested a change in writing.

If your preferred supplier of Special Religious Education (SRE) and Special Education in Ethics (SEE) option is not available, please contact the approved provider.

SRE is already offered at Merewether High School, but we now can offer Special Education in Ethics (SEE). The option available at Merewether High School is provided by Primary Ethics.

SRE and SEE are held during Period 6 Friday. Students who do not attend these lessons will follow the regular school timetable. Those students remaining at school during Period 6 who do not attend lessons will be actively supervised by teachers.
