Callaghan College participates in the Laptops for Learning (BYOD) program. This means that we expect all students to bring a laptop to school to support their learning. To allow your child to participate in the program, please read through the below Laptops for Learning User Agreement with your child and ensure they understand their responsibilities under the agreement.

By signing at the bottom of this agreement, you are confirming that your child agrees to the following conditions:

My child understands that they are responsible for the care and maintenance of their device and that the school will not accept liability for the theft, damage or loss of their device.
My child agrees to respect others’ property and specifically not interfere with another person’s device.
My child agrees to use the departments’s internet only for learning purposes.
My child agrees to use their own portal/internet log-in details and never disclose these details to others.
My child agrees to not hack or bypass any hardware and software security implemented by the department or school.
My child agrees not use any device to knowingly search for, link to, access or send anything that is offensive, pornographic, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or considered bullying behaviour.
My child agrees to report any inappropriate behaviour and material to a teacher.
My child agrees to stay safe online by not giving out their personal information to strangers.
My child understands that their activity on the internet is recorded by the department and these records may be used in investigations, court proceedings or for other legal reasons.
My child agrees that they will care for all devices they use at school and will not interfere with or damage equipment.
My child understands that they must not take photos or make video or audio recordings of any individual or group without the express written permission of each individual being recorded (including parent/carer consent for minors) and the permission of an appropriate staff member.
My child agrees to abide by copyright and intellectual property regulations and if necessary, request permission to use images, text, audio and video and cite references.
My child understands that the use of their device during school activities is at the direction of the teacher.
My child understands that the consequences for breaches of this agreement will be determined by the principal, in accordance with our school’s discipline and wellbeing policies.
