At Yarrawarrah Public School, information, work, videos, photos and recordings are published for the purpose of sharing experiences with other students, informing the school and wider community about school activities, events and achievements, and recording student participation in various extracurricular experiences and opportunities.

This information may include a students’ first name, class, photographs, sound and visual recordings of students, student work samples and students’ opinions and expressions.

The communication in which students’ information may be published include, but are not limited to:

YPS website
YPS Facebook page
YPS YouTube
YPS Newsletter
YPS Annual School Report
YPS information materials for use by the school community
YPS promotional material published in print and electronically
Department of Education intranet (staff only)
Local and metropolitan newspaper and magazines and other media outlets

Parents should be aware that when information is published on public websites and social media channels, it can be discoverable online for a number of years, if not permanently. Search engines may also cache or retain copies of published information. Published information can also be linked to by third parties.

As Principal, I am seeking your permission to allow the school/Department of Education to publish and/or disclose information about your child for the purposes of sharing his/her experiences with other students, informing the school and broader community about school and student activities and recording student participation in noteworthy projects or community service.

If you do not give permission to allow the school/Department of Education to publish and/or disclose information about your child for the above listed purposes, your child will be excluded from:

YPS class photos (except the photo taken by the School Photographer)
YPS house group photos
YPS excursions / class work photos
YPS newsletter
YPS awards photos
YPS Facebook page
