 ming carnival will be held on Tuesday 17 February 2026 at the Dubbo Aquati
 c and Leisure Centre\, Talbragar Street\, Dubbo<strong>. &nbsp\;</strong><
 /p><p><br></p><p><strong>&nbsp\;</strong><strong>Who will be taking part i
 n the Carnival?</strong></p><p>● &nbsp\;All students in Years 3 to 6 wil
 l be attending. Please indicate on the permission note below your child
 9\;s swimming ability. &nbsp\;</p><ul><li>Students who are identified as a
  non-swimmer or if parents don&#39\;t know their swimming ability will not
  be permitted to enter the water.</li><li>Weak swimmers will only be permi
 tted to participate in structured activities in the &nbsp\;shallow water &
 nbsp\;throughout the day. They will not be permitted to go in the big pool
 .</li><li>Average swimmers are permitted to participate in the 25m race an
 d structured activities in the shallow pool.</li><li>Only strong swimmers 
 are permitted to participate in the competitive races in the big pool.</li
 ></ul><p><br></p><p>Nominations for the competitive events are now being f
 inalised. If your child would like to nominate for an event\, please conta
 ct the school on Monday.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Cost</strong></p><p>Pool
  entry fee is $5.50 per student. &nbsp\;Season pass holders do not need to
  pay the pool entry fee but they will have to show their passes on entry t
 o the Aquatic Centre.<strong>&nbsp\;</strong></p><p><strong>&nbsp\;</stron
 g><strong>Carnival Day Times and Arrangements&nbsp\;</strong></p><p><stron
 g>Students taking part in the carnival need to be at school by 9.00 am on 
 carnival day.</strong> They will be leaving the school at 9.15am sharp to 
 walk to the Aquatic Centre under the supervision of Dubbo Public School st
 aff. Rolls will be marked before the students leave school. The carnival w
 ill start around 9.30 am and finish at 3.00pm. Students are to return to s
 chool at the end of the carnival unless collected by parents. No child is 
 to remain at the pool except in the company of a parent or carer.</p><p>&n
 bsp\;</p><p><strong>What to wear</strong></p><p>Full school sports uniform
  should be worn to school on carnival morning. It would be helpful if swim
 mers are worn under the sports uniform.</p><p>Rashies or t-shirts must be 
 worn to provide sun protection when students are not competing.</p><p><str
 ong>What to bring</strong></p><p>Students will need to bring the following
  to school with them on carnival day</p><ul><li>Swimmers and a towel</li><
 li>Rashie or t-shirt</li><li>Hat and sunscreen</li><li>Packed lunch\, drin
 k and snack food. The Aquatic Centre canteen will be open</li><li>Hair tie
 s for long hair.</li></ul><p><strong>Please note the following important p

 \, bodies or clothing with textas\, pens or markers</li><li>Aquatic Centre

 ursion to Beni State Forest as part of our ongoing partnership with Dinawa
 n&rsquo\;s Connection on Friday 31st July.</p><p>During Term 2\, your chil
 d participated in weekly cultural education and dance sessions facilitated
  by Dinawan&rsquo\;s Connection every Friday at Dubbo Public School. These
  sessions connected students to Indigenous culture\, history\, traditions 
 and the importance of connection to Country.</p><p>To build on the knowled
 ge and experiences gained throughout the program\, your child will have th
 e opportunity to learn on Country at Beni State Forest. Guided by the Dina
 wan&rsquo\;s Connection team\, students will participate in cultural activ
 ities that strengthen their understanding of Indigenous culture\, connecti
 on to Country\, local history\, traditional knowledge and the importance o
 f caring for the land. This excursion will provide an authentic learning e
 xperience\, allowing students to further develop the knowledge and skills
