Our annual swimming \;carnival will be for competitive/c onfident swimmers only in Years 3-6 *Competitive and confident swimmer s are those who attend swim club and/or squad training\, or those who can swim 50m continuously without stopping.
2026 Year 2 student s - Although this carnival is for students in Years 3-6\, if your child turns 8 in 2026 and is a competitive swimmer your child may participa te. If your child is not a competitive swimmer\, please decline the event.
There will be no novelty events held on the day. Students not attending the carnival\, will resume their usual lessons with a teacher fr om their grade/stage.

We are pleased to confirm the Year 5 Kianinny Ca mp! This 2-night\, 3-day excursion complements the Personal Development\, Health\, and Mathematics outcomes studied throughout the year. The camp pr ovides students with hands-on experiences that reinforce the topics covere d in class.
Students will stay at the Kianinny Bush Cott ages and participate in a range of sports\, team-building\, and leadership activities\, all designed to be engaging\, safe\, and structured in a sup portive environment.
The excursion cost includes accommo dation\, all activities\, and most meals. A detailed itinerary and packing list will be sent to families closer to the event.

During this excursion students will have the opportunity to work with a professional broadcaster\, and with stem.T4L support\, develop a podcast a bout an important issue affecting Bournda National Park. The program offers a unique opportunity for stud ents to engage with the natural environment while developing their photogr aphy skills\, artistic expression\, and observational thinking.

Program: \;Nature jo urnaling is a method used by scientists to record their observations of th e natural environment. It is a fun and relaxing way to connect more closel y with nature\, to improve observation skills and to allow students to cre ate something completely unique to themselves. Students will use nature jo urnals to help connect with the living world along the way\, by drawing\, sketching\, making seasonal observations\, asking questions\, note-taking and writing creatively. Students will keep their journals so they can cont inue to record their nature observations at home or at school.

Merimbula has a number of magical marine and coastal environments to explore. This program is based at the Merimbula Aquarium and students will have a guided tour of the amazing organisms on display. Later in the day\ , students will visit the Merimbula wharf rockpools\, and undertake a biod iversity documenting and photographing local intertidal species using iNat uralist app. Students will film using iPads the variety of life they find in the underwater world while they learn about the ecology of their marine environment and meet some fascinating creatures along the way!

This exciting opport unity will see students develop their navigation skills using GPS\, maps a nd compasses\, while riding through the beautiful national park to collect clues and solve mathematical challenges.
Program:< /strong> \;Come and explore Bournda National Park by bike. St arting at the Bournda Environmental Education Centre students learn how to use a GPS and map and compass to navigate their way around the National P ark. Students will ride to different sites to collect clues to solve mathe matical problems. Students will need to be competent bike riders and can bring along their own bike and helmet\, alternatively they can use one of the Bournda bikes.

Program : \;Microplastics Alert is a fun and hands-on w orkshop where students learn about the problem of microplastics\, in our m arine environments. Students will use the AUSMAP microplastics kit to coll ect samples and examine them using a digital microscope. After exploring t he science\, students will create an artwork to help people understand why microplastics are harmful to the environment. Their artwork will be shown at the Bournda Environmental Education Centre during the World Environmen t Day dinner.

Event Information:
The MPS boys cricket team will be playing against Narooma PS on the Wednesday 6th May\, 2026 at Bodalla Sports Ground.
The MPS PSSA girls cricket team will play the second knockou t round against Pambula PS. Students are to meet Mrs Lawson at 9:2 5am ready to warm up before the game at 9.45am. Given the early start and allowance for travel\, students are not required to be at school prior to this event.
By providing consent for your child to particip ate in the 2026 Cricket team\, you acknowledge and understand that your ch ild will be playing hardball cricket. If you have any questions or concern s about the nature of hardball cricket or the associated risks and safety measures\, please contact the school.
We are pleased to confirm the Year 6 Camp! This 2-night\, 3-day excursion complements the Personal Development\, Health\, and Mathematics outcomes studied throughout the year. The camp provides st udents with hands-on experiences that reinforce the topics covered in clas s.
Students will stay at Berry Sport and Recreation Cent re and participate in a range of sports\, team-building\, and leadership a ctivities\, all designed to be engaging\, safe\, and structured in a suppo rtive environment.
The excursion cost includes accommoda tion\, all activities\, and most meals. A detailed itinerary and packing l ist will be sent to families closer to the event.
Partic ipation in this excursion is an enriching part of primary education\, and we encourage all students to attend. If your child feels hesitant about at tending\, please contact your child&rsquo\;s teacher so we can work with y ou to support and encourage their involvement.

Rugby League State Knockout Competition. This year we are covering the fir
st few rounds of the competition in a gala day format\, run by the NRL. Th
is means that our teams will get at least 2 games. If they are the winners
on the day\, they will progress to the next round against other South Coa
st regional teams. There will be a canteen running provided by the Narooma
Devils Rugby League.
An updated copy of the draw will be given to students
when all schools have confirmed entry and when the draw has been publishe
d. Game times will be included in the draw. It is anticipated that student
