There will be no novelty events held on the day. Students not attending the carnival\, will resume their usual lessons with a teacher fr om their grade/stage.

The cost of the transport/event will be $10 pe r child. If your child holds a current Sapphire Aquatic Centre membership (this does not include swimming lesson participation)\, please pay only $6 .20 for bus travel). Please note that all students must travel by bus.

Volunteers are free and Sapphire Aquatic Centre pool passes are accepte d for spectators. General spectators may be required to pay on entry fee t o the pool on arrival.

We are pleased to confirm the Year 5 Kianinny Ca mp! This 2-night\, 3-day excursion complements the Personal Development\, Health\, and Mathematics outcomes studied throughout the year. The camp pr ovides students with hands-on experiences that reinforce the topics covere d in class.

Students will stay at the Kianinny Bush Cott ages and participate in a range of sports\, team-building\, and leadership activities\, all designed to be engaging\, safe\, and structured in a sup portive environment.

The excursion cost includes accommo dation\, all activities\, and most meals. A detailed itinerary and packing list will be sent to families closer to the event.

Part icipation in this excursion is an enriching part of primary education\, an d we encourage all students to attend. If your child feels hesitant about attending\, please contact your child’s teacher so we can work with you to support and encourage their involvement.

Please note that payments for this excursion are non-refundable. This is a wonderful achievement and reflects your child&rsquo\;s thoughtful perspective\, stro ng communication skills\, and passion for the environment. The Voices for Nature program provides students with a valuable opportunity to e xplore environmental issues\, develop their voice as advocates for nature\ , and engage in meaningful discussions about sustainability and conservati on. During this excursion students will have the opportunity to work with a professional broadcaster\, and with stem.T4L support\, develop a podcast a bout an important issue affecting Bournda National Park. Student voices wi ll raise awareness of the identified issue back at school and in the broad er community.

This is a fantastic achiev ement and a reflection of your child&rsquo\;s creativity\, curiosity\, and enthusiasm for learning. The program offers a unique opportunity for stud ents to engage with the natural environment while developing their photogr aphy skills\, artistic expression\, and observational thinking.

Throughout the experience\, students will explore the beautiful surroundings of BEEC\, learning how to capture the i ntricate details\, patterns\, and stories found in nature. It promises to be an inspiring and enriching opportunity.

Program:  \;Nature photography is a great medium for students to find a connection with the natural world around them. Students will us e a range of digital devices (iPad\, endoscope\, digital SLR etc) to learn methods and techniques of digital photography\, photo editing and visual text construction. After exploring the forests and lake environments aroun d the centre\, students will select a series of photographs that portray t he special features of Bournda National Park. Students will edit and selec t their favourite photos from this series to create a digital story.

Merimbula has a number of magical marine and coastal environments to explore. This program is based at the Merimbula Aquarium and students will have a guided tour of the amazing organisms on display. Later in the day\ , students will visit the Merimbula wharf rockpools\, and undertake a biod iversity documenting and photographing local intertidal species using iNat uralist app. Students will film using iPads the variety of life they find in the underwater world while they learn about the ecology of their marine environment and meet some fascinating creatures along the way!

This exciting opport unity will see students develop their navigation skills using GPS\, maps a nd compasses\, while riding through the beautiful national park to collect clues and solve mathematical challenges.

Program:< /strong> \;Come and explore Bournda National Park by bike. St arting at the Bournda Environmental Education Centre students learn how to use a GPS and map and compass to navigate their way around the National P ark. Students will ride to different sites to collect clues to solve mathe matical problems. Students will need to be competent bike riders and can bring along their own bike and helmet\, alternatively they can use one of the Bournda bikes.

    Start time: Students to meet Mrs Kennedy between 8.45am and 9am. The first game will b e at 9:30am.

    Congratulations! Your child has been selected for the Meri mbula School Athletics team to participate in the Sapphire Coast District PSSA Athletics Carnival. Students have been provided with their printed ev ent qualification form today.
    • Students are required to arrive by 8.45am so there is enough time for briefings and athlete warm-ups. A program is attached to the resource section of this event (please note that the order of events is subject to change\, especially field events\, depending on weather\, ground conditions and the pacing of other events t hroughout the day).
    • The Athletics field is located behind the Bega Valley Public School Oval on Bega Street. Parking is limited and it is essential that parents and staff do not park in areas that are too clos e to the track to ensure the safety of all participants and spectators for the carnival.
    Additional event details:
    • The wearing of fo otwear is mandatory for safety reasons. Spikes can be worn in long jump\, high jump\, 100m\, 200m and relay events.
    • A canteen will be operat ing on the day (cash only)\, a menu to be sent via email when available.&n bsp\;
    • Any students who require asthma or anaphylaxis medication (E piPen) must present to the MPS first aid stand upon arrival. Asthma and An aphylaxis medication held on the school site\, will be taken by organising staff to the venue.
    • The ground will be wet with heavy dew and fro st so it might be a good idea to have a ground cover for your children to sit on.
    • If the carnival needs to be postponed due to bad weather a n announcement will be shared via School Bytes\, back up dates of July 31 and\, if required\, August 14.< /span> \;
    • All protests on the day must be made within 30 minut es of the completion of the event and come to the carnival organisers via a teacher in the position of team manager. Protests cannot be made by p arents or students.
    • Qualifying students on the day will compet e in the South Coast Regional Carnival at \;Beaton Park Athletics Track\, Foley Rd\, Gwynneville \;on Septermber 18th.
