GRIP LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE 2026

Dear Parents and Carers\,

Our student Parliamentarians have been invited to attend the GRIP Leadership Conference on Thursday\, 12th March in Dubbo. \;

This is a wonderful opportun ity for our student leaders to develop their leadership skills in a suppor tive and engaging environment. The GRIP Student Leadership Conference is u nique in that it concentrates specifically on training student leaders for their role as school leaders. The style\, topics\, and content of this co nference all focus on what the students can do right now in their current roles as Parliamentarians. \;

Students will leave Fo rbes North Public School\, from the York St Gate (Hall) at 7.00am. We are travelling via bus with Forbes Public and Middleton Public School leaders.  \;Mrs Kennedy will be accompanying our students on this experience. T he conference is being held at Dubbo RSL Memorial Club and starts at 8.45a m. The conference concludes at 2.15pm and we should arrive back at Forbes North bus shelter by 4pm. Any variations to this will be communicated via Facebook.

Students are required to wear full uniform\, i ncluding their Parliamentarian badges. We are also required to bring reces s\, lunch and water. There will be no canteen or facilities for students t o purchase their food. There is no cost to students for this conference.&n bsp\;

This year\, Stage 2 and 3 children will be invited to participate in an ov ernight excursion to Lake Burrendong in Week 3 of Term 3.  \;T he dates are Thursday 6 August to Friday 7 August. This will be a great opportunity to learn new skills and try a range of activities such as grass skiing\, rock climbing\, BMX riding and night games to name a few .

The total cost for the excursion is $200. \; This amount covers bus travel\, accommodation\, meals\, all Sp ort and Recreation Staff lead activities. A more detailed note will be sen t home later in the term which will include what to bring and the itinerar y.  \;You are most welcome to start paying this excursion off. Full payment will be required by Friday 24 July.

In order to secure our school’s booking and confirm numbers\, a non-refundable deposit of $60 is required to allocate your chi ld’s place on the excursion.  \;To pay the deposit\, you may do so a t the office or via the School Bytes app.
