This carnival is for Years 3-6\, with the exception of a ny student who is turning 8\, from Year 2\, who is a competent swimmer wishing to compete for a p osition at the PSSA Hawkesbury Zone Swimming Carnival. The student \;MUST be able to confidently swim 50 metres without sto pping. There will be a 50m freestyle age race for students turning 8 years old in 2026. If your child is able to swim the other events: 50m b utterfly\, backstroke\, breaststroke\, 200IM\, they would be competing as a Junior in the 8-10 years age group.

The evening performance is scheduled to finish at approximately 9:15pm\, all students will perform in their item as well as the finale of the show. At the conclusion of the event\, students will be rele ased in a structured way by the Pulse Alive team to ensure the safety of a ll students and staff as well and safety of all audience attendees. \; Our School has been \;allocated \;the \;flag labelled &ldquo\; P&rdquo\; to use \;for their parent pickup point. This program w ill help to educate your child on:
The program uses mul timedia\, role play\, song and story with characters &ldquo\;Victor th e Dog&rdquo\; and \;&ldquo\;Victoria the Cat&rdquo\; who provide primary school aged children with a variety of stimulating activi ties to teach a wide range of concepts relating to responsible pet ownersh ip such as the importance of being safe around dogs. There will also be a special visit from a trained dog who will remain on a leash. A small numbe r of students will have the opportunity to pat the dog during the presenta tion. \;

An overnight excursion has b een planned for students in Year 4 to Vision Valley Outdoor Education Cent re in Arcadia. This is a sports and recreational style camp\, which we wil l be linking to our PDHPE program in building resilience\, empathy\, teamw ork and physical activity. Students will work with specialised staff to un dertake a variety of activities.
Dates and times: D epart school on Monday \;16 November \;at 3:30 pm and arrive back at school on Tuesday 17 November at approximately 2:40pm (please note this time could change due to traffic- please keep an eye out on School Bytes for up dates). Students are to stay at school after the bell goe s on Monday to give them enough time to have afternoon tea\, go to the toi let\, take travel sickness medication (if needed) and board the bus on tim e.

Monday 9 November- Wedn esday 11 November. The students will be engaged in teaching and learning e xperiences delivered in various locations in our nation&rsquo\;s capital r elating to our learning in HSIE.
Students in Year 5 and 6 will be tr avelling via bus to various locations in Canberra. It is a 3-day\, 2-night camp. The students will be sleeping in hotel rooms and teachers will be p roviding supervision. Students will be invited to take part in a range of activities at Parliament house\, Old Parliament House\, Australian War Mem orial\, Museum of Australian Democracy\, Royal Australian Mint\, National Arboretum Canberra\, National Capital Exhibition\, Australian Institute of Sport\, Questacon\, Mount Ainslie and Embassy driving tour.

This year\, K-2 will be holding a separate Athletics Carnival from the 3–6 carnival. This will provide o ur younger students with an opportunity to participate in a fun\, age-appr opriate day focused on participation\, movement and enjoyment. \;

Our carnival is a non-competitive event designed to encourage all students to be activ e and have fun.
The only competitive event on the day will be the 50 m Sprint Race\, where ribbons will be awarded to placegetters in each age group.
Students turning 8 years old in 2026 who qualify for specific events at the 3–6 carnival will receive a separate invitation to attend on the day. \; Qualification will be taking place in weekly sports se ssions.
