This face-to-face event brings together Central Coast student ambassadors\, teachers\, and p rincipals to share progress\, exchange ideas\, and lead collaborative disc ussions across schools. 2026 Swimming Carnival and water fun day at Mingara Aquatic Centre. Competitive races will be held for students to qualify and represe nt our school at the Zone Swimming Carnival. We will also hold novelty eve nts such as the 25m race\, noodle races and separate land-based water fun activities for non-swimmers. \;
To attend and compete in the swi mming carnival\, students will need to be turning at least 8 years old \;in 2026. \;
The school is committed to ensuring all students between 8-12 years old \, have the opportunity to participate in our Swimming Carnival and as suc h\, our school will be subsidising the full cost\, so there is no fee for students to take part.
However\, if you are able to\, a voluntary contribution of $10 per student would be greatly appreciated. This helps us continue to provide these important sp orting opportunities for all students.

Our LAC (Local Aboriginal Culture) excursion provides an on- country experience for all students in Stage 3. The excursion will be supp orted by Uncle Dave Ella and Jono who will provide insights into the Abori ginal culture and heritage of the Central Coast region. We also provide so me hands-on environmental and geography field study opportunities.
S tudents will be travelling by bus from Gorokan Public School to Bateau Bay beach picnic area (Reserve Drive\, Bateau Bay). At the venue students wil l be split into three groups. Group 1 will walk along the coast track and participate in Dhinewan with Jono. Group 2 will play Koori games on the be ach. Group 3 will explore the rock platform with their teacher. Uncle Dave Ella will Yarn about the different rock formations and Aboriginal quarry site. Each group will participate in all three activities. Students will t ravel by bus back to school to return by 3:00pm.

The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation (SAKGF) ai ms to use hands-on learning experiences to engage students and teach them a range of real-life skills\, knowledge and understanding across several k ey learning areas.
Students in Stage 1 will participate in the SAKGP as part of their normal learning program. Students will attend one sessio n each week participating in a kitchen or garden lesson. \;

The Bilby Bash is a fun cultural day hosted by Blue Haven Pu blic School for Aboriginal &\; Torres Strait Islander students in Stage 2 from the Muru Bulbi AECG region.
Northlakes High School have invited our Stage 2 and 3 Aborig inal dancers to rehearse for our upcoming community performance at Polytec Stadium. The rehearsal will be held at their dance studio\, before our pe rformance at the Rabbitohs Game on Saturday 21 March.
Students will be picked up by seat belted bus from Gorokan Public School and driven to N orthlakes High School where they will rehearse and return back to school b y 1:30pm.
Students will be required to take their school bag to have recess at Northlakes High School\, returning back to Gorokan Public in ti me for lunch.
Gorokan Public School Didge boys and Stage 3 Aboriginal danc e group have been given an incredible opportunity to showcase their talent at the Rabbitohs Round 3 halftime show at Polytec Stadium (14 Dane Drive\, Gosford\, Central Coast New South Wales 2250) on Saturda y 21 March. Times are yet to be confirmed but would be between 5:30pm - 7: 00pm. This is a very special moment for our students\, as they will be per forming on a large stage and sharing their culture with a wide audience.
Parents/carers will need to drop their child off at 1:45pm outside th e main stadium entrance (opposite the Central Coast Leagues Club front doo rs)\, for the 2:15pm rehearsal. Parents/carers are either required to stay onsite during the rehearsal or pick their child up at 2:45pm\, at the sam e location as drop off. \; Children will need to leave their wrist ba nds on between rehearsal and the performance. Tickets for the game will be handed out at rehearsal drop off. All tickets will be seated together wit hin the stadium\, and staff will accompany children to \;and from sea ts during the half time performance. \;
The performance will hig hlight the powerful sound of the didgeridoo alongside traditional Aborigin al dance\, allowing our students to express storytelling\, culture and pri de through music and movement. Opportunities like this not only celebrate Aboriginal culture but also help our young people build confidence\, leade rship and a strong sense of identity.
The students have been working hard to practise and prepare for this performance\, showing dedication\, teamwork and enthusiasm every step of the way. We are extremely proud of t heir efforts and grateful for the opportunity for them to represent their school and community at such an exciting event.
