This year our Year 4 students have an opportunity to go to c amp in Term 4\, 2025. The destination for this camp will be Collaroy Centr e at Collaroy Beach. Students will depart from school early on Tuesday 28< sup>th October 2025 and return to school late afternoon on Wednesday 29th October 2025. Travel to and from the camp will be by coac h. This camp is full of adventure and fun with students challenging themse lves on activities that might include giant swing\, laser tag\, archery an d many more. A full itinerary will be sent home closer to the camp dates. The cost of the camp will be approximately $260 \;dep ending on student numbers.
We are asking parents to make a $50 non refundable deposit payment by Friday 20th June 2025 to secure your child&rsquo\; s place on this very exciting camp. In the lead up to the camp\, further n otes will be sent home regarding suggested payment schedules\, medical con ditions\, dietary requirements\, confirmed itineraries and packing require ments. \;
Kindergarten students have been learning about the features and needs of living things as part of the Science and Technology\, Play-Ba sed Learning unit of work. An excursion has been arranged to Calmsley Hill City Farm\, Abbotsbury to support teaching and learning experiences. This excursion will provide students with an opportunity to interact with farm animals in a safe environment and take part in a variety of demonstration s run by trained guides. Students will be engaging in sensory exploration of the farm&rsquo\;s garden\, farmyard nursery petting\, cow milking and t ractor riding.

Swim Scheme and Water Safety Program 2025
Denham Court Public School will once again be offering the Department of Education Sch ool Swimming and Water Safety Program which is an intensive learn to swim program to develop water confidence and provide students with basic skills in water safety and survival. \; The Program is conducted over ten d ays and each daily lesson is 45 minutes in duration. \;
Students who have not reached a satisfactory standard of water safety and survival skills and are unable to swim 25m confidently unaided with correc t technique in deep water\, are eligible to participate in the School Swim ming and Water Safety Program.
The Program is open to students in Years 2\, 3\, 4\, 5 and 6. The Program will contin ue daily for two weeks from 11th August 2025 to 25th August 2025 at Macqua rie Fields Leisure Centre. The total cost for the 10-day program is $135 w hich includes $7.50 bus fare and $6.00 entry to the pool each day. \;< /p>
There are only 120 places available which will be allocated to the f irst 120 students who pay the $135 in full. Unfortunately\, due to high de mand\, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN. \;
Each child needs to wear the ir swimming costume to school each day under their school uniform. They ne ed to bring their underwear to put on after their lesson. The staff at Great Aussie Bush Camp will be able to cater for students with identified dietary needs such as (Gluten or lactose intolerance) or anaphylaxis risk s as well as for students who need to have a specific diet for religious r easons. This year our st udents have an opportunity to attend a day camp in Term 4\, 2025. The dest ination for this camp will be Wedderburn Christian Campsite\, Wedderburn. This day camp provides students with a wonderful opportunity to take part in adventure activities that build teamwork\, confidence\, and resilience. By working together to solve challenges\, students develop stronger commu nication skills\, trust\, and friendships&mdash\;all while having fun in a safe and supportive environment (please be assured that no religious stud y or instruction will be included in this program). \; \;
As part of our fundraising efforts for the Year 6 farewell\, the Stage Three team is hosting a Halloween themed dress-up disco and sau sage sizzle on Friday 31st October\, 2025. Students will attend the disco in the school hall for a 50-minute timeslot with other students from their stage. \;
The cost of the disco is $10. This include s entry to the disco\, a glow-stick\, sausage sandwich\, and popper fruit drink. Important to note: Students should still bring lunch and re cess on the day\, as the sausage sizzle may not align with regular break t imes.
Any students not attending the disco will participate in a fun activity with other students from their stage.
Swimming carnival for 2026 is being held on Monday 24th Nove mber 2025. \;
The carnival is open to all students from 3-6 (20 26) who \;can swim 50m unassisted \;and those in Year 2 (2026) that are turning or have turned 8 in 2025 who do squad training. \;There will be no opportunity fo r non-swimmers to enter the water on the day (ie no free water play) and t herefore they are not to attend the carnival.
We are excited to invite your child to a special and memorab le event - the Year 6 Farewell Celebration\, where we will honour and bid farewell to our graduating students as they embark on a new chapter of the ir educational journey.
On Wednesday 10th December\, 2025 Stage 3 students will be h osting our annual whole school fun day. On this day Year 6 students will b e running a number of stalls that students will be able to visit and under take some fun activities. The fun day is being held to raise funds for end of year activities for Year 6 students\, these include\, Year 6 Farewell\ , Year 6 gift to the school and the end of year High School transition pro gram. Students will be broken into 2 groups Years K-2 will have 90 minutes at the fun day in the morning session and years 3-6 will have 90 minutes at the fun day in the middle session.
The Fun Pass allows students t o participate in all of the activities and stalls on the day. For students who DO NOT purchase a fun pass they will still attend the fun day but wil l only be able to participate in a very limited number of activities.

DCPS is offering a 1-day South Asian Dance Workshop for students in multiple schools. These workshops are suitable for both experienced and non-experienced dancers. Taught by South Asian dance tutors in collaboration with the NSW Departmen t of Education’s Arts Unit\, the workshops encourage creativity\, confid ence\, and cultural connection through a vibrant blend of traditional and contemporary South Asian dance forms. Dance styles explored include Bollyw ood dancing and folk styles\, such as Khatak\, Bhangra and more. Students from neighbouring schools will also be participating in this workshop.&nbs p\;

This is a n inclusive event\, and students of all faiths are warmly encouraged to pa rticipate. We invite all students to design and create a decorative\, scho ol-appropriate\, fun-themed hat to parade alongside their teacher and hub in front of our school community.

4. \; You may not take your own equipment to PSSA sport unless your coach allows you to. \;If you are allowed t o bring equipment by your coach\, it must stay with the kits when o n the bus.
5. \;You must walk to the bus and sit down at all ti mes on the bus.
6. \; You must always be a good sport. This mea ns cheering for your team\, obeying the referee&rsquo\;s directions and de cisions\, and cheering the other team at the end of the game.
7. &nb sp\; If you want to go to the toilet at PSSA you must ask the coach\, take someone with you and tell the coach when you get back.
8. \; W hen you get back to school you will walk quietly to your coach&rsquo\;s cl assroom.
9. If there are concerns about your behaviour and ability t o follow the school rules in and out of the classroom as well as at PSSA s port\, you may be unable to attend PSSA for a particular week. \;It c ould even lead to exclusion from the team. \;If you miss PSSA for a p articular week due to your behaviour\, refunds will not be given. \;Y ou will be required to do work back at school.

The Sydney Writers Festival's Primary Day is an opportunity for students to engage with authors to develop their writing skills. Pleas e note that availability is limited to 24 students. Students will be alloc ated a position based on the order on which notes and payments are receive d. \;
On Friday \ ; \;15th May 2026\, students from the Bilima hub will be participating in the Inclusive Schoo l Sports Boccia Blast program being played at Minto Indoor Sports Centre.& nbsp\; \;This event is open to 6 students from our suppor t unit with students playing rounds of Boccia against other support units within the Macarthur area. \;
Transport to this ev ent is by either parent/carer or\, \;if required your child can be tr ansported by a staff member from the school to the venue and back to schoo l at the conclusion of the event. \;
Please be aware that if you require your child to be transported by a staff memb er they will need to be at school at 8.30am. \;
Please Note: \;If you are transpor ting your child you must arrive no later than 9.30am at the venue. You wil l need to indicate this in the permission section. \;
K-6 \;will participate in Jersey Day. Students are enco uraged to wear sports jerseys representing their favourite teams\, includi ng NRL\, AFL\, soccer \, cricket or any other sport they prefer. We are excited that our Concert Band has been invited again to perform at the \;Band Together Festival run by School Bands Austra lia and the Band Together Foundation. \;

This year Denham Court Public Sc hool will be holding the Primary Athletics Carnival on Wednesday 3rd June 2026 at Campbelltown Athletics Stadium. Students who are in Year 2 and who are turning 8 years old this year are also invited to attend this carniva l. Transport to and from the venue for students will be via bus from the s chool. This is a designated school event and as such all students in years 3-6 are expected to attend on the day. This venue is an all-weather venue with undercover shelter for students. As such the carnival is scheduled t o proceed even in the event of wet weather. \;
The cost of the carnival will be $17.50 \;< /span>This will cover the cost of the bus\, venue and equipment hire. \;
Students MUST atte nd school in the morning and travel to the venue via bus. Parents cannot b ring their child/ren to the carnival. \;
This year our Ye ar 4 students have an opportunity to go to camp in Term 3\, 2026. Kindergarten students have been learning about the features an d needs of living things as part of the Science and Technology unit. An ex cursion has been arranged to Calmsley Hill City Farm\, Abbotsbury to suppo rt teaching and learning experiences. This excursion will provide students with an opportunity to interact with farm animals in a safe environment a nd take part in a variety of demonstrations run by trained guides. Student s will be engaging in sensory exploration of the farm’s garden\, farmyar d nursery petting\, cow milking and tractor riding.
Tournament of Minds is a problem solving pr ogram for teams of students from primary years. Tournament'\;s aim is t o enhance the potential of our youth by developing diverse skills\, enterp rise\, time management\, and the discipline to work collaboratively within a challenging and competitive environment.
Students are required to solve demanding\, open-ended challenges from one of the following discipl ines:

Students from Barnaaga 1\, Guriyal 1\, Garadi 1 and Gununngwir 1 w ill participate in a one day training workshop at Denham Court Public Scho ol to learn the skills of Tournament of Minds. The workshop will be held d uring school hours from 9:10-1:40pm in the school hall. There is no cost t o the incursion. Students are required to wear full school uniform on the day and bring lunch and recess. \;
Students will also attend nor mal scripture classes during the day.
Following this training day so me students will have the option of joining the Tournament of Minds Compet ition team.

Swim Scheme and Water Safety Program 2026
Denham Court Public School will once again be offering the Department of Education School Swimming and Water Safety Program. This is an intensi ve 'learn to swim' program to develop water confidence and provide student s with basic skills in water safety and survival. The program is conducted over ten days and each daily lesson is 45 minutes in duration. \;
Students who have not reached a satisfactory standard of water safety and survival skills and are unable to swim 25M confidently unaided with correct technique in deep water\, are eligible to participate in the School Swimming and Water Safety Program.
The program is op en to students in Years 2\, 3\, 4\, 5\, and 6. The program will take place every day for two weeks from 3 August 2026 \;to 14 August 2026 at Ma cquarie Fields Leisure Centre. The total cost for the 10-day program is $1 50\, which includes $9.00 bus fare and $6.00 entry to the pool each day.
There are only 110 places available\, which will be allocated to the first 110 students who pay the $150 in full. Unfortunately\, due to high d emand\, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.
Each child needs to wear their swi mming costume to school each day under their school uniform. Students MUST bring a towel and underwear to put on after the lesson. It is also recomm ended that students bring a rash shirt\, swimming cap\, goggles and 30+ wa ter-resistant sunscreen as some lessons may be outside. Students will be a ssessed during the School Swimming and Water Safety Program for all water safety skills with and without goggles.

Planning for this year’s camp is well und erway. \;A reminder that all balances MUST be paid i n full by no later than Thursday 27th August 2026< /span>.< /span>
It is now time for us to start gathering information about all stude nts attending the camp to assist us in furthering our planning of the even t. Attached to this note is a form that asks a number of questions about e ach student’s dietary needs as well as any medical conditions that they may have. This is very important information that we need to provide to th e camp providers.
The staff at our accommodation will be able to cat er for students with identified dietary needs\, such as Gluten and lactose intolerance or anaphylaxis risks as well as for students who need to have a specific diet for religious reasons. The camp staff are very well verse d in providing menus that appeal to a wide variety of students. \;
For students with identified medical needs and who take daily medicatio n\, we will be taking this medication with us. We can only dispens e prescribed medications (those prescribed by a Dr and dispensed by an aut horised pharmacy). On the morning of the first day of camp\, all medications will be given to Miss Williams\, who will be responsible for t hem during camp. Each medication MUST be in it’s origin al packaging with the pharmacy label attached which shows the name of the student along with the daily dosage to be administered. We are unab le to administer any medications that are not prescribed by a doctor or th ose that are not in their original packaging. \;

For Term Three and Four\, we have been fortunate enough to secure the Learning Links team to come to our school and lead some K-6 programs t o improve students’ \;social emotional competence\, communication\, self-regulation\, school participation and positive behaviours. \;The Stage Two and Three program will also have a focus on teaching practical s kills to children who struggle with feelings of anxiety.
