This year our Year 4 students have an opportunity to go to c amp in Term 4\, 2025. The destination for this camp will be Collaroy Centr e at Collaroy Beach. Students will depart from school early on Tuesday 28< sup>th October 2025 and return to school late afternoon on Wednesday 29th October 2025. Travel to and from the camp will be by coac h. This camp is full of adventure and fun with students challenging themse lves on activities that might include giant swing\, laser tag\, archery an d many more. A full itinerary will be sent home closer to the camp dates. The cost of the camp will be approximately $260 \;dep ending on student numbers.
We are asking parents to make a $50 non refundable deposit payment by Friday 20th June 2025 to secure your child&rsquo\; s place on this very exciting camp. In the lead up to the camp\, further n otes will be sent home regarding suggested payment schedules\, medical con ditions\, dietary requirements\, confirmed itineraries and packing require ments. \;
Kindergarten students have been learning about the features and needs of living things as part of the Science and Technology\, Play-Ba sed Learning unit of work. An excursion has been arranged to Calmsley Hill City Farm\, Abbotsbury to support teaching and learning experiences. This excursion will provide students with an opportunity to interact with farm animals in a safe environment and take part in a variety of demonstration s run by trained guides. Students will be engaging in sensory exploration of the farm&rsquo\;s garden\, farmyard nursery petting\, cow milking and t ractor riding.

Swim Scheme and Water Safety Program 2025
Denham Court Public School will once again be offering the Department of Education Sch ool Swimming and Water Safety Program which is an intensive learn to swim program to develop water confidence and provide students with basic skills in water safety and survival. \; The Program is conducted over ten d ays and each daily lesson is 45 minutes in duration. \;
Students who have not reached a satisfactory standard of water safety and survival skills and are unable to swim 25m confidently unaided with correc t technique in deep water\, are eligible to participate in the School Swim ming and Water Safety Program.
The Program is open to students in Years 2\, 3\, 4\, 5 and 6. The Program will contin ue daily for two weeks from 11th August 2025 to 25th August 2025 at Macqua rie Fields Leisure Centre. The total cost for the 10-day program is $135 w hich includes $7.50 bus fare and $6.00 entry to the pool each day. \;< /p>
There are only 120 places available which will be allocated to the f irst 120 students who pay the $135 in full. Unfortunately\, due to high de mand\, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN. \;
Each child needs to wear the ir swimming costume to school each day under their school uniform. They ne ed to bring their underwear to put on after their lesson. It is now time for us to start gat hering information about all the students attending the camp to assist us in furthering our planning of the event. The staff at Great Aussie Bush Camp will be able to cater for students with identified dietary needs such as (Gluten or lactose intolerance) or anaphylaxis risk s as well as for students who need to have a specific diet for religious r easons. This year our st udents have an opportunity to attend a day camp in Term 4\, 2025. The dest ination for this camp will be Wedderburn Christian Campsite\, Wedderburn. This day camp provides students with a wonderful opportunity to take part in adventure activities that build teamwork\, confidence\, and resilience. By working together to solve challenges\, students develop stronger commu nication skills\, trust\, and friendships&mdash\;all while having fun in a safe and supportive environment (please be assured that no religious stud y or instruction will be included in this program). \; \;
As part of our fundraising efforts for the Year 6 farewell\, the Stage Three team is hosting a Halloween themed dress-up disco and sau sage sizzle on Friday 31st October\, 2025. Students will attend the disco in the school hall for a 50-minute timeslot with other students from their stage. \;
The cost of the disco is $10. This include s entry to the disco\, a glow-stick\, sausage sandwich\, and popper fruit drink. Important to note: Students should still bring lunch and re cess on the day\, as the sausage sizzle may not align with regular break t imes.
Any students not attending the disco will participate in a fun activity with other students from their stage.
Swimming carnival for 2026 is being held on Monday 24th Nove mber 2025. \;
The carnival is open to all students from 3-6 (20 26) who \;can swim 50m unassisted \;and those in Year 2 (2026) that are turning or have turned 8 in 2025 who do squad training. \;There will be no opportunity fo r non-swimmers to enter the water on the day (ie no free water play) and t herefore they are not to attend the carnival.
We are excited to invite your child to a special and memorab le event - the Year 6 Farewell Celebration\, where we will honour and bid farewell to our graduating students as they embark on a new chapter of the ir educational journey.
On Wednesday 10th December\, 2025 Stage 3 students will be h osting our annual whole school fun day. On this day Year 6 students will b e running a number of stalls that students will be able to visit and under take some fun activities. The fun day is being held to raise funds for end of year activities for Year 6 students\, these include\, Year 6 Farewell\ , Year 6 gift to the school and the end of year High School transition pro gram. Students will be broken into 2 groups Years K-2 will have 90 minutes at the fun day in the morning session and years 3-6 will have 90 minutes at the fun day in the middle session.
The Fun Pass allows students t o participate in all of the activities and stalls on the day. For students who DO NOT purchase a fun pass they will still attend the fun day but wil l only be able to participate in a very limited number of activities.

DCPS is offering a 1-day South Asian Dance Workshop for students in multiple schools. These workshops are suitable for both experienced and non-experienced dancers. Taught by South Asian dance tutors in collaboration with the NSW Departmen t of Education’s Arts Unit\, the workshops encourage creativity\, confid ence\, and cultural connection through a vibrant blend of traditional and contemporary South Asian dance forms. Dance styles explored include Bollyw ood dancing and folk styles\, such as Khatak\, Bhangra and more. Students from neighbouring schools will also be participating in this workshop.&nbs p\;

We are pleased to inform you that your child has been selected to participate in the 2026 Multicult ural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition\, organised by the Departmen t of Education Arts Unit. This is an exciting opportunity for Stage 2 and Stage 3 students to develop and deliver a speech with a multicultural focu s\, based on the topics provided.
Your child will present their prepared speech in Week 2 of Te rm 2 \,29th of April. The students will be presenting at the following times in the school hall: \;
Stage 2: (9:10am- 11am)
Stage 3: (11:50am-1:30pm)
The destination for this camp will be Wedderburn Christian C ampsite\, Wedderburn. This day camp provides students with a wonderful opp ortunity to take part in adventure activities that build teamwork\, confid ence\, and resilience. By working together to solve challenges\, students develop stronger communication skills\, trust\, and friendships—all whil e having fun in a safe and supportive environment (please be assured that no religious study or instruction will be included in this program).
