Stage 3 wil l be going on an excursion to the Coffs Coast Adventure Centre located at Bonville in Term 4\, Week 8\, Monday 17 – Wednesday 19 November 2025.

This excursion has been planned to supplement the followin g work being done in the classroom:

Students will participate in a variety of activities including: \;

All aspects o f marine life with a combination of theoretical and practical applied stud ies.  \;Students will have the opportunity to get up and personal with a range of aquatic life at the National Marine Science Museum\, then get wet and actively investigating ocean awareness\, experiencing surf lessons and exploring the ecosystems that border our beautiful shoreline. \;< /p>

The cost of the excursion will be $330.00 for accommodat ion and the bus that is paid for by the P&\;C. \;

Should you wish for your child to attend the excursion\, please complete the permission note and pay  \;a $50.00 deposit no later than Friday 1 August 2025 with the final payment due Friday 7 November\, 2025.

Unfortunately Armidal e PSSA have exhausted all avenues to run the carnival in Armidale and have been forced to make a decision to move the carnival to Tamworth with the pending rain coming on Wednesday and Thursday.

As you would imagin e this decision has not come lightly. \;

Armidale PSSA will fund buses for those students who have no other form of transport\, however we are hopeful for people being able to car pool and support each other to g et students there and back where possible.

Buses will leave Armidale City Public School at 7:30am and a notice will be sent out by schools for a return time which is expected to be approximately 4pm.

The carniv al will now begin at 9:30am to allow extra travel time and buses will retu rn upon completion of the carnival.

The Plan: Local Armidale Schools wi ll bring their Year 5/6 students to Newling PS at 11:30 on Friday 28th Nov ember for a sausage sandwich\, connecting with other 5/6 students from aro und the Armidale area.
After lunch has been eaten\, students will be ab le to participate in an obstacle course- dodging slime cannons shot by wil ling teacher volunteers and some of the finest senior students Armidale Se condary College have on offer! (Please note students will not be pushed to take part\, there will be also be other opportunities for involvement - a nd the slime dissolvesand is non-toxic - no hair will be ruined in the run ning of these activities!)
Each Student will be given a set of Sunglass es and a headband\, but the ability to dodge the slime is up to them!
< br>Following Slimefest\, students will be hosed off and get changed in des ignated change areas\, provided with an afternoon snack and be ready for t he bus back to their home schools. We are eagerly anticipating this as bei ng the first of many chances for our students to laugh together\, work tog ether and make connections across the community.

(We do suggest tha t they possibly wear old clothes for the event... it is non - toxic slime but I'm sure it will be messy!!)

Teachers from Stage 3 will be atte nding with students.

Students are to bring their own water bottle\, lunch will be provided.

Responsible behaviour is expected througho ut the duration of the excursion.
