The Byron Writers Festival is an engaging event that celebra tes the joy of storytelling and the importance of literature. This festiva l offers a unique opportunity to meet authors\, participate in interactive workshops\, and attend fun storytelling sessions.
Students will hav e the chance to learn about the writing process\, explore their creativity \, and discover new books across various genres. With activities designed to inspire young minds\, the festival encourages a love for reading and wr iting\, fostering a deeper appreciation for the written word.
The da y will feature an exciting lineup of talented artists\, including Australi an Children's Laureate Sally Rippin\, comedian Peter Helliar\, and poet Ma xine Beneba Clarke. \;
It's an excellent occasion for young read ers and writers to celebrate literature and creativity in a fun and dynami c environment!
There is a total of 50 TICKETS \;available for students in Years 4\, 5 and 6. It is first in\, b est dressed. You will not be able to make payment or give consent once 50 tickets have been purchased.

DESCRIPTION:Home Reading began from our first day of school (2.2.26) for Ye
ars 1-6. Please watch out in school bags for our Home Reading Logs\, which
were sent home in Week 4 (20.2.26). Students are asked to read each day (
books\, magazines\, websites\, brochures\, the newsletter - it all counts!
). Record each day of reading in the Home Reading Logs. You might read a c
hapter or several pages of a book each day over the week. Each DAY of read
ing counts (it is not counted as each book). Students return reading logs
weekly to their classroom teacher. Teachers will organise Blue Awards to r
ecognise each 25 days of Home Reading. When students reach 100 and 200 nig
hts\, their name is published in the newsletter\, and they receive an awar
d at the next whole school assembly. When students reach 250 (Kinder) and
300 nights\, they receive an award at Presentation Day in December.\nRemem
ber\, the more we read\, the more we learn!
