Your child has been selected to represent our school at the DanceSport Gala. The Gala will be held on < strong>Tuesday\, 26 August at the Quay Centre\, Sydney Ol ympic Park\, Homebush.
Dancers will travel by bus from school at 1:30 pm to the rehearsal/pe rformance at the Quay Centre. This will allow for a full rehearsal prior t o the event commencing. \;
Parents/caregivers are responsible for transporting their chil d home after the performance.
Dance sessions leading up to the Gala are crucial. Please ensu re your child is at school every Friday.
If your child is unable to attend the DanceSport Gala event please let Ms Chiu know as soon as possible as this will directly impact o ther dancers. \;
It is a requirement for the event that every child participat ing in the DanceSport Gala has permission to be photographed and published (film and photography) and that by signing this permission note you are \;giving perm ission for your child to be photographed and filmed during the DanceSport Gala. You are acknowledging and agree that \;photogra phy and film will be captured in the lead up to\, and during the \;DanceSport Gala and that without permission to publish\, you r child will be unable to participate in \;the event. \;This is a requirement of DanceSport.

The Department of Education&# 39\;s School Swimming and Water Safety Program is an intensive learn to sw im program\, which develops water confidence and provides students with ba sic skills in water safety and survival. The program is conducted over nin e days. Each daily lesson is 45 minutes.
Students who are un able to swim 25m confidently are encouraged to participate in the School Swimming Scheme. The program is open to all students in Year 2.&nb sp\;
Each child should bring a swimming costume\, goggles (optional) \, towel\, school shirt\, hat\, warm clothing and spare underwear. All ite ms should be clearly labelled with your child&rsquo\;s name. Instruction m ay take place in an outdoor pool and it is recommended that students use a dequate sun protection e.g. Sunscreen and rash shirt \;
Students will be assessed during the School Swimming and Water Safety Program for all water safety skills without wearing goggles.
The program will co ntinue daily \;from Tuesday 14 October to Friday 24 O ctober 2025. \;
The total cost for transport and entry t
o the facility for the program is $219.68.The cost of the

In Term 4 Kindergarten and Stage 1 stu dents will be participating in Observatory Hill Environmental Education Ce ntre'\;s Bush Christmas incursion. \;
Bush Christmas is a 90 minute incursion program that combines story\, song and craft to introduce students to Australian animals and their habitats. Students will take a take part in an interactive Christmas story to learn about Austral ian animals\, and create a sustainable Christmas present and wrapping pape r by stenciling an animal design onto a calico bag and wrapping paper. The y will also learn and sing an Australian Christmas song and meet some pres erved Australian animals up close.

Stage 3 will be g oing on a two-night camp to Canberra in Term 3. There have been several da te changes due to conflicting bookings that were made outside of the schoo l&rsquo\;s control. This will result in a late return to school on the las t day of camp (approx. 6:30 pm). This trip will be an exciting opportunity for students to learn more about our history unit '\;Australia as a Na tion'\;. The NSW Arts Unit are ho lding a full-day Primary Debating workshop. It is a full day of coaching a nd practice with some of the state&rsquo\;s most senior (but also fun) adj udicators and coaches. The days will cover all aspects of primary school d ebating\, including rebuttal\, arguments\, definitions and speakers'\; roles\, as well as a few games and activities and a chance for every stude nt to deliver a short debating speech and get some feedback.

The carn ival will be held at Ashfield Aquatic Centre\, and families are responsibl e for their students transportation to and from the venue.
The carnival is due to begin at 9am sharp and competitors are asked to arrive at the pool by 8.30am. \;Please ensure that your child arrives at the pool by 8:30 am so that we can mark the roll and begin the carnvia l on time. We cannot be held up by late arrivals so please ensure your chi ld arrives on time. The carnival should be finished by 2.30pm.

Your chi ld has been selected to represent our school as part of the Annandale Nort h Public School Choir for The Arts Unit Primary Proms of 2026. The Proms a re a showcase of school choirs across NSW and will be held on Thur sday the 17th of September at the Sydney Town Hall.
To prepare for the performance students must commit to attending extra choir practice sessions. These sessions will be recurring on:

Events: \; \;Students will walk the 2km or 3km course as a group prior t o their race. \;
Distances: \;8\,9\,10 years run the 2km course. 11 and 12 years run the 3km course.
What to pack: \;Students will need to
pack their food for the day\, water bottles\, hat\, sunscreen and wear sui
table running shoes with their school sports uniform AND/OR House Colours
for the Carnival. There will not be a canteen or lunch orders available
on the day. \;
Note on medications: Students with medical conditions will carry their school-based medi cal devices (puffers and Epipens) in school pouches with them on the walk\ , and will store them at the first aid tent during the carnival. A staff m ember will administer medications to any students that take them during th e day. \;

What to pack:&nbs p\;Student will need to pack their recess\, lunch\, water bottles \, hat\, sunscreen and wear suitable running shoes with their school sport s uniform. A jumper or jacket is recommended for after the event. Students can bring a book or some drawing to do while waiting for their race. Mobi le phones and smart watches (unless required for medical reasons) will be stored at the front office as per school policy. \;
ANPS School singlets: \; A running singlet will be provided on th e day and must be returned before heading home.
Supervision: \;Students will be supervised by Mr Gold throughout the day.
Parents\, coaches and unauthorised persons are not allow ed on the course. Once competitors are in the hands of the of ficials controlling the event\, they must not receive any coaching or advi ce. Penalty: disqualification of the competitor at the discretion of the Convener.
Sydney East: \;The fi rst 6 places in each event will represent Balmain Zone at the Sydney East Area Championships to be held on Wednesday 10th June 2026 at Miranda Park. They will receive their information and permission notes upon completion of their race.
Please complete this permission slip and pay the $10 fee before 11th May\, 2026. \;
Stage 2 Science Incursion - Body Systems
Dear Parents and Caregivers\,
We are excited to inform you about an upcoming science incursion for our Stage 2 students\, presented by Fiz zics Education. This engaging and interactive session will focus on the hu man body systems\, with a particular emphasis on the skeletal system and m uscles.
Students will have the opportunity to explore how these body systems work\, understand their functions\, and participate in hands-on a ctivities designed to enhance their learning experience in a fun and memor able way.
