In Term 3 our senior st udents will be going to Bathurst for three days from 20-22 October 2025. T his is an excursion that happens on alternate years so students will have the opportunity to go to Canberra one year and Bathurst the next. This exc ursion is an integral part of the history\, geography and science programs for Stage 3.
The cost of the camp will be $550. This includes all m eals\, accommodation\, three day program\, activities\, entry fees and bus fare.
We are seeking expressions of interest in attending the camp this year as well as a non-refundable deposit of $100. It &rsquo\;s often difficult to gauge the number of students who will be atte nding and therefore the cost\, as we must guarantee a minimum number of at tendees and pay financial penalties if the number falls short.

Bags may be left alongside the sandstone wall\, weather permitting. All children need to be at school no later than 6.45am. Please meet in the school hall. A packed morning tea is needed on Day 1 (please place in a day pack for easy access). \;

Your child has been invited to take part in the inaugural Primary School Band Day at Inner Sydney High School on Monday 1 September 2025. The high school band students and teachers are looking for ward to working alongside our Stage 3 students to develop their musical sk ills and building stronger connections within our community.
\;Students have the opportunity to perform a piece of music\, li sten to the high schools bands and perform with the Inner Sydney High Scho ol band in a concert. On Monday 1s t \;Septembe r Stage One will be involved in an \;action \;packed \;science incursion \;at sch ool. Students will investigate how sound travels and how we hear sounds. T his incursion is filled with demonstrations and experiments that will expl ore how sound energy is sensed and produced. Students will create music wi th glass chimes\, \;observing \;how sound moves solid objects thro ugh vibrations\, and even build their own guitars and perform in a band! \; \;
On Tuesday \ ;9th \;S eptember Kindergarten will be \;involved in \;a school incursion t hat will \;encourag e \;their \;understanding some of the \;world’s oldest survi ving cultures\, which particular emphasis around the Aboriginal culture. \;The experienced \;Gumaraa \;Range rs will teach \;the \;students about bush tucker\, let them try th eir hand at boomerang throwing\, and even invite them to partake in a trad itional Ochre Ceremony. \;They will \;identify \;different pla ces \;that are important to Indigenous people and gain an understandin g of connection to land. Through \;observing \;Aboriginal tools\, weapons and archaeological artefacts\, students learn how we can look afte r these places\, and will have the opportunity to hear stories of heritage and tradition from living members of an ancient culture. \; \;
< br>Venue/sStage 3 will be going on an excursion to Old Government Hous e and Experiment Farm Cottage on 16 September 2025\, from 9:00am to 3:30pm . This inquiry-based excursion \;will support our students’ studies in History about the colonial era in NSW. Arrangements have been made for 2H and 2B to participate in a ten-day intensive swimming program. The Department of Education School S wimming and Safety Program is run by experienced swimming instructors and is a valuable intensive swimming program that develops water confidence an d provides student with skills in water safety and survival. Kindergarten - Year 6 students who attend Anglican scripture are going to St George Church at Five Ways for a Christmas service. \ ;
The service for the students will be on Thursday 11 December. Stud ents will leave school at 9.30am for a 9.45am service and will return to s chool by 10.15am. Students will be accompanied by the scripture teacher an d the classroom teacher. They will receive a slice of watermelon at the en d of the service. \;

Stage 2 students will engage as junior environmental scientists in an interactive and immer sive Science incursion. Through the use of nature journals\, detailed sket ches\, watercolours\, and simple data tables\, students will explore and i dentify the four spheres of the Earth&mdash\;land\, water\, air\, and livi ng organisms. They will systematically collect and classify natural specim ens into living and non-living categories\, providing clear justifications for their classifications. Additionally\, students will utilise a field g uide to locate and document evidence of animal activity. The investigation will include a thorough examination of a &ldquo\;habitat tree&rdquo\; fro m its base to the canopy\, identifying features such as hollows\, shelters \, pathways\, and food sources. Furthermore\, students will observe an ani mal to track its movements and demonstrate the interactions between living organisms and their environment. The incursion will occur on schoo l grounds. \;

This event\, hoste d by Halogen Australia\, is designed to empower and inspire young people b y bringing together distinguished leaders from various fields to share the ir experiences and advice.
The 2026 National Young Leade rs Day will feature keynote presentations\, engaging activities\, and oppo rtunities for student interaction. It aims to build leadership skills\, en courage positive personal values\, and motivate students to make a differe nce in their schools and communities.
Students will be d eparting from school at 7:45am and will travel via public transport accomp anied by Mrs Ortolani. Please ensure your child brings their Opal card wit h them for the journey.

The Year 3-6 students can dress-up as a &lsquo \;Pedlar&rsquo\; and parade their goods and sell them to all students. &nb sp\;We encourage students to use creativity and initiative to make individ ually wrapped items. \;These could include stationery supplies\, home made jewelry items\, small toys etc. About 6-8 for each Pedlar is a good amount. \;We are discouraging food items on the day due to allergies. Each item will be sold for $1 or $2\, decided by the Pedlar. The money ra ised will go towards new playground equipment. \;

To support our English program\, all senior stud ents will visit the ANZAC War Memorial in Hyde Park and participate in a w orkshop based on the novel we have been studying\, Loyal Creatures. During the workshop\, we will explore the role of the Australian Light Horse through history\, literacy\, and drama. Following this\, students wi ll take a guided tour of the War Memorial. \; We will then enjoy a pic nic lunch in Hyde Park before visiting the Australian Museum. \;
We hope this experience will deepen students&rsquo\; understa nding and make ANZAC Day more meaningful for them.
