Wamberal Public School's Swimming Carnival will be held on W ednesday 18 February 2026 at Gosford Olympic Pool Centre. Students from Ye ar 2 to 6 are expected to attend.
As the carnival is run as 'heats o nly' and overall winners are determined on times\, it is essential that st udents who are competent swimmers nominate and have their names recorded f or their selected races.
Please check all entry forms to ensure all information is correct\, especially your child's date of birth and correct entry age. Incorrect information could result in your child being entered into the wrong event.
To alleviate the congestion of events at the swimming carnival\, we will be conducting the 100 metre freestyle\, 200 me tre individual medleys and butterfly events earlier in the morning. If you r child is competing in these events\, please have your child at the pool 8:30am for an 8:45 am start (100 metre races will be first). These student s will return to school on the bus and are required to pay the full fare t hrough the school.
Please note that parents are welcome to attend the Swimming Carnival\, however th ere will be an entry cost of $3.80 for spectators and parent helpers.

Star Struck is a performing arts extravaganza presented by Newcastle\, The Hunter and Central Coast areas of the NSW Department o f Education. Star Struck provides performance and learning opportunities f or students in the arts and fosters an appreciation of the performing arts . The program brings together students from very small Primary Schools to large comprehensive High Schools from diverse backgrounds. Students gain v aluable experience across a range of vocational areas in the arts and the opportunity to work with industry experts whilst working towards a nationa lly accredited qualification in Events. Star Struck is one of the largest performance events presented in the area and\, as such\, enjoys immense lo cal support from the corporate and business sectors\, the media and the co mmunity.
Students in our 3-6 choir are invited to participate in a Co mbined Public Schools Choir for the Anzac Day Dawn Service at Terrigal Bea ch.

The Wamberal Publ ic School canteen is operated and managed by the Wamberal P&\;C Associa tion and relies on the generous support of volunteers. \;
The P& amp\;C is inviting expressions of interest from Stage 3 students who would like to be considered as Canteen Student Helpers during recess and/or lun ch. Once expressions of interest have been received\, the P&\;C will wo rk with the Canteen Manager\, Tricia\, to develop a roster. Depending on t he number of students interested\, the goal is to provide all participatin g students with an opportunity to assist in the canteen by the end of the 2026 school year. \;
Please note that this initiative is fully m anaged and overseen by the P&\;C. The school’s role is limited to col lecting permission notes and assisting with the organisation of student vo lunteers. \;
Students participating as Canteen Helpers will be s upervised at all times and are required to follow all directions given by canteen staff. \;

Our Aboriginal girls dance group\, Ngarin Gullar\, have been invited to participate in a special dance workshop at school\, led by stu dents from Tumbi Umbi Campus. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to connect with older peers\, strengthen cultural knowledge\, and further develop their dance skills. \;
The workshop will take place in the school hall from 9:30 am–11:00 am on 1 April 2026

In this virtual excursion\, Stage 2 classes will connect liv e with a museum educator and learn about first contacts between Aboriginal peoples and colonists that arrived as part of the First Fleet and aboard other ships in the early years of the colony of New South Wales.
Stu dents will examine a range of historical sources including artworks and Ab original cultural objects and explore the impact of these new arrivals on the Aboriginal peoples of Sydney and the local environment.
In Week 10\, Monday 30 March\, Stage 3 students will partici pate in the Sustainability for the Future Science Showcase Day.
