Year 6 students are invited to attend the Year 6 Dinner Danc e at Mittagong RSL. Keith\, our wonderful dance instructor\, will be hosti ng the evening with a great program of dances and games which will ensure all students remain highly involved throughout the evening. A multi-course dinner is included on the evening\, students with dietary requirements wi ll be identified before\, and information passed onto the venue for the ev ening. Professional photographers will be there with a photo booth to take photos that will be available to download after the event. Students will travel by bus to visit the Sea Life S ydney Aquarium and Wildlife Park. While at the Aquarium\, everyone will be participating in a guided tour that focuses on habitats. Students will ha ve a lunch break before visiting the Wildlife Park. \;
Yeear 4 t hen depart Darling Harbour to arrive at Taronga Zoo for an overnight stay! Students will participate in a Twilight Safari experience.
All stud ents will be placed in small groups that are supervised by a teacher. Stud ents will use a buddy system during the excursion. All students will wear a wrist band with the school phone number during the excursion so that the y are easily identified by venue staff.
Please ensure that you pack morning tea\, lunch and afternoon tea for day one and all other meals and snacks will be catered for by the zoo and are covered as part of the excur sion package.

TRIAL: Bowral Public School : Hyde Park (Monday 17 March 2025).
\;In order to be considered for this team\, students must attend the hockey trial and then commit to a weekly training session before school every Monday morning from 8.00-8.4 0am whilst the team remains in the competition. \;
What to bring : every student trialing MUST have a mouth guard and shin guards\, running shoes and a water bottle. They may bring their own hockey stick. However\ , spare sticks will be available for students to use. After the trial\, al l students are expected to change back into their school socks and school uniform.
\;Please complete the permission note by Friday 14 Mar ch 2025. Students must have permission submitted via School Bytes in order to attend the trial.

Your daughter has expressed an interest in trialing for the 2025 girls&rsquo\; school football (Soccer ) team. This team will be made up of the best 13 players at Bowral Public School from Years 5 &\; 6. \;
This team will be participating in the NSW PSSA Knockout competition in 2025. In order to be considered f or this team\, students MUST attend the football trial and then commit to a weekly training session (TBC) whilst the team remains in the competition . \;
When and Where: This trial will take place on Monday 24 Mar ch\, from 8am - 8.40am at Bowral Publlic School. The trial will be held at Hyde Park playground. \;
What to bring: every student trialing must have shin guards\, running shoes (NO football boots please ) and a water bottle. \;
Students need to bring the ir school socks to change into after the trial. \;
Students must return this permission note to be able to attend the trial.
The boy'\;s cricket team have their second game in the PS SA knockout competition against Goulburn Public School. This game will be played at Brian Martin Oval (also known as Centennial Oval) in Bowral.
Please ensure students arrive at the venue at 9am to warm up and be rea dy for the first ball at 10:00am. If you are able to help with transport\, umpiring or scoring on the day\, please indicate on the note and I will m ake contact with you before the game.

We&rsquo\;re pleased to share an exciting update to our upcoming Year 3 excursion. We have been lucky enough to secure a session at the Australia n National Maritime Museum \;on \;Thursday 15 May\, and as a result\, we will now be visiting the museum i nstead of the previously planned trip to the Sydney Aquarium.
This c hange offers a valuable learning opportunity\, as the Maritime Museum feat ures interactive exhibits that support our upcoming studies in history\, s cience\, and geography. It promises to be a highly engaging and enriching experience for our students.
Students will visit the \;< /strong>Wild Life Sydney Zoo as planned on the day\, where students will h ave the chance to explore and learn about native Australian animals - a fu n and educational part of the day that students always enjoy.

< p>As we know\, Year 4 students are incredibly excited about their upcoming Zoo Snooze experience at Taronga Zoo - a unique overnigh t adventure offering hands-on learning about animals\, conservation\, and life at the zoo after dark.We’re pleased to share that this group is especially lucky\, as on Thursday 15 May they will now also be attendi ng the Australian National Maritime Museum in place of the previously plan ned visit to the aquarium. We were fortunate to secure a session at the mu seum\, which offers interactive\, curriculum-linked exhibits supporting ou r upcoming learning in history\, science\, and geography.
Students w ill visit Wild Life Sydney Zoo \;as planned. This exc iting experience will allow students to explore and learn about native Aus tralian animals up close\, enhancing their understanding of our science cu rriculum.

Held on Mondays and Tuesdays\, students participate in class groups with their classroom teacher and Alison Beckett from the Hume Conservatorium in The Basement.
Originally focused on wind instruments using fun and lightweight Dood s and Toots (flute\, clarinet\, and saxophone)\, the program is expanding this semester to include drumming\, percussion\, and a vocal program\, off ering students a rich and diverse musical experience.
All instrument s have been purchased by the school and are loaned to students free of cha rge.
Students will continue to develop essential musical skills whil e sharing the joy of making music with their classmates through engaging\, hands-on lessons right here at school.
We can't wait to see\, and h ear\, our young musicians in action once again!

t Regional level the fields in the 800m events are restricted to the top 1
6 competitors in the region. These athletes will be notified in the week p
rior and there are NO automatic qualifiers- \;
- The 1500m event for 10 years\, 11 years and 1
2 years has again been incorporated into the South Coast regional and NSW
athletics championships. Due to time restraints\, we will not be running a
1500m event at the Wingecarribee Carnival. Schools will nominate individu
al students. \;

- \;There are two options for when yo
ur child can run the 800m\; Monday 21 July or Thursday 24 July (both start
ing at 8:15am). This is to accomodate students running in the State Cross
Country carnival the day prior. Students can only run in one or the other
and not both. \;
Whilst this is a joint excursion our Year 6 will travel together as a group as will our Year 5 students. \ ;
The venues that Year 5 will visit are Parliament House\, Cockingto n Green Gardens\, Questacon\, National Capital Exhibition Centre\, Elector al Education Centre and National Museum of Australia.
The overnight accommodation will be at the Ibis Styles Eaglehawk Resort.

Stage 1 students will be travelling by seat belted buses to The Rocks in Sydney for an history based excursion on the early days and s ettlers in Sydney Australia. They will be attending the Big Dig Education Centre where they will participate in a program called 'Little Diggers'. S tudents will find out about the children who lived in The Rocks during the 1800s\, what their houses were like and what games they played. They will learn about how their lives were different from\, and similar to\, ours. Students will work as archaeologists\, excavating artefacts from a simulat ed archaeological dig\, then use \;interactive map mats to examine an d discuss them in the context of the everyday lives of children who lived in The Rocks in the late 18th and 19th centuries.
In recognition of their dedication to Stage 2 choir rehearsa ls and successful audition\, we are pleased to offer your child a position in the Primary Proms choir enrichment program. Parents are required to transport their child to Peppers Craigieb urn Bowral\, and then back to school at the completion of the performance at approximately 9.00am
The Choir will be performing at 8.45am \;to open the conference\, and we require students to arrive by 8.30am.

Stage 2 students have been invited to Bowr al High School for a special screening of Rising Up\, a documentary series directed and produced by Kal Glanznig.
Rising Up takes students on a journey to explore c limate change and ocean plastics\, sharing inspiring human stories and rea l solutions for a better future.
The screening will run for one hour\, followed by a 30-minute Q&\;A wi th the director himself\, Kal Glanznig &ndash\; an incredible opportunity for students to ask questions and hear directly from the filmmaker.
Stage 2 will walk to and from Bowral H igh School for this exciting event.

Brave Conver sations - Fostering Hope Through Tough Conversations \;wi th Justin Robinson and Matt Johnstone
Stage 3 students will join peers from across the Highlands in attending the 2025 Wellbeing Forum. The forum will focus on conversations about wellbeing and provide practical strategies to support students duri ng this important transition in their lives as they move on to high school . \;
The Bowral Public School Year 6 Boy'\;s Cricket Team have
been invited to compete in a game of cricket against Sydney Grammar Schoo
l. This game will be played at Bradman Oval on Friday 7 November. Students
will need to be dropped off at Bradman Oval at 8:15am\, ready for a warm
up and first ball at 8:45am.
The game will finish at approximately

As part for our scripture program and to help us celebrate C hristmas\, SRE students will be participating in a Freestyle Dance Ministr y workshop.
Freestyle Dance Ministry is a fun and engaging program t hat is centered on partnering with schools by working with students throug h dance\, discussion and discipleship. Students will hear the Biblical mes sage of Christmas while engaged in a fun\, interactive dance workshop.
The instructor Justin Seidel is an experienced dance instructor and soc ial worker who has been creating and running similar workshops in schools and youth groups since 2016.
The boy'\;s cricket team have progressed to the state qua rter finals in cricket. This is an away game in the Riverina Region agains t schools in the Griffith area\, however they have been kind enough to mee t us at Young.

This special community event will offer a fun and engaging experience for our students as they explore the station and learn more about its long history.
During the visit\, students will have t he chance to:
Climb into a nd explore a range of fire trucks from past generations
View a picture timeline showcasing the station&rsquo\;s 100-year history
Talk with firefighters who will be on hand to answer questions

Enjoy excellent pho to opportunities and take part in celebrating an important local milestone

Throughout the even ing\, students will actively participate in dances they have been learning over the past two years. A multi-course dinner will be provided (any stud ents with dietary requirements will be identified in advance so that appro priate arrangements can be made with the venue).
As part of the event\, students are asked to create a table name plate decoration at home to bring with them on the night. The decoration should cover no m ore than an A5 surface area.

Your child has
been selected in the team to represent Bowral Public School school at the
Wingecarribee District Swimming Carnival on Monday February 23rd at Bowral
Swimming Pool.
If your child is unable to attend\, plea
se alert Miss McLean as soon as possible. \;
Private transport to and from the pool needs to be arranged. Student s should meet their supervising teacher at their school tent\, when they a rrive. Students in the 100 metre freestyle need to be at the pool before 9 am as this event is the first in the program. If your child is in an event later in the day\, they should arrive well before their event. A program of the day&rsquo\;s events is included in this note. \;
The carnival will commence at 9am with the 100m races and continue unt
il all events are completed\, hopefully at about 3pm.
The cost of p
articipating in the carnival is $5\, which needs to be paid upon completin
g the note. The normal pool admission fee of $3.20 will also need to be pa
id upon entry to the pool on the day of the carnival. Spectators will also
be required to pay an admission fee of $2.
Children att ending the carnival should wear the district shirt (provided by Miss McLea n on Friday) to the pool and ensure they have sufficient clothing to offer complete protection from the weather &ndash\; rain\, hail\, or shine! All clothing should be labelled.
The pool canteen will be a vailable during the day for snacks. Please ensure your child has plenty of food and drinks for the day.
All events at the district carnival are timed finals. If there are any questions\, concerns or prote sts\, an inquiry must be made through the school coordinator to the carniv al convenor within 30 minutes of the completion of the event.
The two fastest swimmers in each event (except the medley events) wi ll represent the Wingecarribee District at the South Coast PSSA Regional S wimming Championships to be held at the Dapto Olympic Pool\, Dapto on Tues day 17th of March 2026. Competitors in the District Team may purchase a WD PSSA swimming cap (not compulsory) which will be available on the day of t he carnival.
Your child has expressed interest in joining the boy'\;s school cricket team and is invited to attend a trial after school on Wedne sday March 11. Students will need to meet Miss McLean in the 5/6M classroo m straight after school to walk to Bradman Oval together.
Students w ill need to be collected by parents from Bradman Oval at 4:45pm.
If students have their own kit\, they are encouraged to bring it. They will a lso need a drink bottle and a hat.
Students will be told if they wer e successful in making the team in the days following the trial\, ready fo r the first match against Exeter Public School\, taking place on March 25. \;

Student leaders will attend the GRIP Student Leadership Conf erence\, where they will participate in interactive sessions focused on de veloping leadership skills such as integrity\, responsibility\, teamwork\, service to others and positive contribution to their school community.

Year 4 are invited to participate in an extra special excurs ion opportunity!
On Thursday 25 June\, Day 1\, students will travel by bus to Darling Harbour. We will visit the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium and the Maritime Museum. \;
Later in the afternoon\, Year 4 then dep art Darling Harbour to arrive at Taronga Zoo for an overnight stay! Studen ts will participate in a Twilight Safari experience that provides a unique glimpse at the animals during the night. The next morning\, students are taken on an immersive behind the scenes look at unique Australian habitats . Students are then able to explore the zoo with their teachers before lun ch which is followed by our departure back to school.
This excursion supports our Geography\, Science and English units of work where students are exploring how humans\, animals and flora interact with their environm ents.
Please ensure that you pack a generous morning tea\, lunch and afternoon tea for day one. Thursday dinner and Friday lunch will be cater ed for by the zoo and are covered as part of the excursion package.
Students will not be visiting the gift shops on the day.
Medical and catering information is required by Taronga Zoo to prepare for visiting s chools. \;

We are excited to share that stage 3 students will be headin g off on a fun and action-packed excursion to the NSW Office of Sport&rsqu o\;s Berry Sport and Recreation Centre\, located not too far from home in the beautiful town of Berry. This camp promises an exciting range of outdo or adventures and team activities\, giving students the chance to try new things\, challenge themselves\, and enjoy time with their peers in a suppo rtive and energetic environment.
