Life Ed offers schools a unique\, curriculum-based program e mpowering children to make safer and healthier choices through education. The Junior Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (JAECG) i s a student committee that is established at Whitebridge High School. Abor iginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students are involved in the committe e.
Throughout the year JAECG representatives are invited to their LA ECG committee meeting to share and report on JAECG activities within their school. It is also an opportunity for the JAECG to receive support and gu idance from their LAECG and community. The LAECGs will then update the Reg ional AECG on the development and achievements of the JAECG.

Years 5 &\; 6 will be going on a 3-day/2-night camp to th e wonderful Great Aussie Bush Camp\, Tea Gardens campground. Students will participate in many high-interest sporting\, team building and confidence -building activities during our camp. Students will stay in supervised sha red cabin-style accommodation with ensuites\, not in tents.
Total cost is $370.00. This breakdowns into two fees:
1. $2 76.50 accommodation &\; bus travel \;(no GST payable)\; and
2. $93.50 food component (incl GST).
The total cost includes transpo rt by private bus\, accommodation\, all activities\, meals and snacks\, ni ght activity\, and night time supervision.

Kahibah Public School trials for the PSSA Rugby League Team\ , will take place WEDNESDAY\, 4th June \; at 8.15am on the school ova l. This will be a CONTACT TRIAL where the students will be tackling. All s tudents must have a mouthguard to participate in the trials and for each t raining practice that follows if they are selected in the team. Other prot ective gear such as shoulder pads and head gear are optional.
Rugby league is a collision sport. I understand that:
· For my child to play Rugby league as part of the representative PSSA school prog ram\, they have undertaken an appropriate skill training program resulting in suitable experience to play this sport at representative level.
· The wearing of a correctly-fitted mouthguard is mandatory in all games and training sessions.
· While efforts are made to minimise the pos sibility of injury\, there will remain some degree of risk inherent in par ticipation in this collision sport.

I am extremely excited to announce that the Senior Dance Gro up has been successful in auditioning and has been invited to perform at t he 2025 Hunter Schools Dance Festival. The Hunter Schools Dance Festival p rovides a showcase in dance for Hunter school students from years Kinderga rten to Year 12. The festival aims to support the continuing development o f dance in our region\, provide an opportunity for talented students to en gage in quality performance at a professional venue and provide access for schools to showcase their dance programs to a wider audience.

Kahibah&rsquo\;s fir st game is at 9:30am so be there by 9:00am. We will play at least TWO game s. If we keep winning\, we keep playing. Please look at the attached draw. Parents will need to be flexible with student collection times. \;
Canteen facilities will be available throughout the day for all students and also to be able to support the local Basketball Associati on.
Gala Day EXTRA Information - \;
● The Gala Day will follow the NSW PSSA Knockout Comp etition Draw as closely as possible &ndash\; games have been adjusted to f it within the scheduled time (please see below).
● The schedule will be adhered to as closely as possible\, to ensure that all g ames are played and the draw does not run overtime.
● We will run games from a central clock. This will only be adjusted if ther e is a draw and overtime is required or in extenuating circumstances.
< p dir=\"ltr\">● The FINAL will be a fully timed game (please see below) &ndash\; the team that wins the final will need to arrange to play Round 6 Match 1. If they are successful at winning this Round 6 game they will th en progress to the NSW PSSA State Finals at Penrith Regional Sports Centre .● All schools are required to provide supervision fo r their teams/students.

● Schools that are knocked out are welcome to remain to play consolation games (scheduled and on avai lable courts) and to watch/support teams competing in knockout competition .

The Hunter Schools Dance Festival p rovides a showcase in dance for Hunter school students from years Kinderga rten to Year 12. The festival aims to support the continuing development o f dance in our region\, provide an opportunity for talented students to en gage in quality performance at a professional venue and provide access for schools to showcase their dance programs to a wider audience.

As part of our English unit about Australian animals\, Early Stage 1 will be going on an excursion to Oakvale Farm. Students will trav el by bus to and from Oakvale Farm. We ask that all students be at school by 8:45am to have their name marked off ready to depart at 9:00am. \;< /p>

m Whitebridge High School\, studying sports coaching. This initiative buil

S tudents will be working with peers from our local public schools through a range of collaborative and high school transition inspired activities tha t enables them to get to know other students heading to high school.
There will be presentations by Whitebridge High School teachers and stude nts\, group tasks and collaborative games throughout the day.
As part of the Wiyellai Koa HPGE initiative\, Kahibah PS wil l be hosting the ES1 Peer Mento ring \;Workshop\, Friday 17th October from 9am to 12pm. \;
Kahibah Public School is excited to host a special learning opportu nity for our Early Stage One students from Wiyellai Koa - \;Charl estown Public School Charlestown East Public School\, Charlestown South Pu blic School\, Dudley Public School and Redhead Public School - throug h our High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) program\, with a focus on the Social and Emotional Learning domain.
Through this workshop\, s tudents will engage with peer mentoring as they explore the theme of kindn ess\, what it looks like\, why it matters and how it shapes our school com munity. Through rich discussions and collaborative activities\, students w ill reflect on the role kindness plays in their own lives and in the world around them.
As part of this experience\, students will create a po dcast to share their thoughts\, insights and stories about kindness at sch ool. This creative project will give them the opportunity to use their voi ce in a purposeful way and connect with others through shared ideas.
To support their social-emotional growth\, students will also take part i n restorative activities that help build relationships\, empathy and emoti onal awareness.
We look forward to the thoughtful conversations and creative outcomes this experience will inspire.

Students will enjoy their very own Silent Disco experienc e\, each student will receive a pair of wireless headphones and can choose from three awesome music channels mixed by a virtual DJ. With glowsticks\ , colourful lighting\, and plenty of dancing\, it’s sure to be an energe tic and fun-filled event! \;
Classes will share party food on the day and students are asked to bring something to share\, including a list of ingredients available for those who have food allergies. Please ensure your child brings their norma l lunch\, water and fruit break\,
As part of our end of year celebration\, students in Kinderg arten\, Year 1 and Year 2 will be attending Lake Cinema (Boolaroo) to watch the Disney movie\, \"Zootopia 2\" (Rated PG).
During the excursion\, students will explore how pl aces are managed for conservation and sustainability. They will learn that conservation focuses on protecting natural environments and native specie s by reducing human impact\, while sustainability aims to balance environm ental protection with responsible human use and recreation. Students will gather geographical information by interpreting maps and sources\, conduct ing research and making firsthand observations using senses and a range of tools\, including digital technologies and scientific instruments. \ ;
Students previously identified as high potential students\, will s upport the entire stage to revisit the site and mentor their peers in geog raphic tools and systems. \; \;
Year 6 will be holding their annual fundraising effort to ra ise money for their farewell celebrations and gift to the school. Year 6 s tudents will be operate a number of stalls to provide the rest of their pe ers with an afternoon of exciting activities.
Tokens will be available to purchase up to Tuesday 25th November 2025 \;to use as currency at the stalls.

This carnival is f or all students in Years 3 - 6\, as well as any Year 2 students who are st rong\, competitive and competent swimmers (at least 50m without stopping) and will be 8 years old by the end of 2026. \;

Our HPGE Leadersh ip Program provides activities and games to challenge students to reach th eir potential as leaders\, working collaboratively to find solutions to di fferent
scenarios and problems. The program develops talent i n the intellectual\, creative\, socio-emotional and physical domains.
< p>The program is delivered in an outdoor environment that offers diverse p ossibilities for connection and growth.Activities include games and challenges that develop skills in conflict resolution\, collaboration\, c o-operation and communication.
Students should bring:

A Debating workshop will be delivered at Belair Public Schoo l. The day will cover all the things students need to know for primary sch ool debating including rebuttal\, arguments\, definitions and speakers' \; roles\, as well as a few games and activities and a chance for every si ngle student to deliver a short debating speech and get some feedback.

As part of our History unit 'Past and Present Family Life'\, Stage One students will be going on an excursion to Tocal Homestead to ex plore life from the past.
Students will travel by bus (fitted with s eatbelts) to and from Tocal Homestead\, Paterson. We ask that all students be at school by 8:50am to have their name marked off ready to dep art promptly at 9:00am. During the day students will be broken in to small groups and will explore and participate in a range of activities.
Buses will leave Tocal at 2:00pm in order to arrive back at school by 3:00pm.
A small number of parent/carer helpers w ill be required for the day. \;If you are interested\, please see bel ow.
On Thursday 26th March we will be holding Kahibah Public Sch ool's Cross Country Event for 2026.

Parents and family members are welcome t o come and support their children. \;
Students are to be directly transported to Caves Beach PS by 9:30am. \;However\, if the ground is damp the game will be mo ved to Chapman Oval\, Swansea (notice will be provided the afternoon befor e if a venue change is needed).
