Our overnight excursion fo r our Stage 3 students in 2025 is to the Great Aussie Bush Camp \;in Tea Gardens. \;
This outdoor recreation experience promises to be a fun\, challenging\, and diverse adventure that will engage your child in meaningful ways. Thr ough various activities set against the backdrop of nature\, students will have the opportunity to develop teamwork skills\, build resilience\, and create lasting memories with their peers. These enriching experiences are relevant to their growth and learning. \;

Depart GPS on Wednesday 5th November 2025 .
All students must be at school by 8 .30am.
The bus will depart no later than 9am.

The School Swimming and Water Safety Program is an intensive program conducted on 10 consecutive school days that develops water safet y awareness with a focus on competitive strokes. Students will attend one 50 minute lesson daily for 10 days.
The program is presented by NSW Department of Education teachers who are also qualified in aquatic educati on. There is a maximum of 45 places available. The places will be allocated to the first 45 students who make payment. A reserve list will b e kept and activated if required. To secure your booking please make payme nt and return the note to the front office by Friday 14th November (end of Week 5\, Term 4).

showcase on Tuesday 25th November at Lake Munmorah High School. Schools in

The aim of this talk is to encourage students to reconnect with cu
lture\, understand where they come from\, and hear from community members

is session will also allow students to build a friendly and familiar conne
ction with Alice and Uncle Glen\, ensuring they have known\, approachable
supports to reach out to in the future if needed.
On Saturday 13th December 2025\, our school choir will be pe rforming at the Carols at Gwandalan Bowling Club. To organise and prepare the students\, we would like to know how many students will be attending.< /p>

Transport to this rehearsal will be vi a private vehicle\, we recommend carpooling where you are able. Students w ill be met at the basketball stadium by Mrs Shepherd and she will remain w ith them until they are collected at the end of the day. \;
Stud ents are required to bring their own lunch and recess\, and a water bottle . They may bring a small amount of money to spend at the canteen. They are required to wear their school uniform shirt and it is recommended that th ey wear tights or leggings that they can comfortably dance in. Our excursion for our Stag e 3 students in 2026 is to Canberra. \; \;
This year\, Stage 3 students will trave l to Canberra for a three day/ two night excursion. The Camp directly rela tes to learning undertaken in Semester 2 from our History unit: 'Australia as a Nation'. This topic moves from colonial Australia to the development of Australia as a nation\, particularly after 1901. Within the unit\, stu dents learn about the Westminster system and other models that influenced the development of Australia's system of government.
We will be visi ting a number of Government sites within Canberra\, including Parliament H ouse\, as well as a number of tourist locations. Travel will be by coach\, and we will be staying in cabin-style accommodation. Morning tea and lunc h will need to be provided from home on Day 1\, however all other meals wi ll be provided during the camp. More details will be provided once we have final numbers and the itinerary has been confirmed.
Camp dates:
Depart GPS on Wednesday 4th Novembe r 2026.
All students must be at schoo l by 7.00am.
The bus will depart no later than 7.30am.
< p>Arrive back at GPS on\;All students must be picked up by an adult.
Travel arrangements:
Travel to and from Canberra is by seat belted coach.

The total estimated cost for the excursion i s $500.
An initial non-refundable $50 deposi t is due by Friday 8th May- Term 2 Week 3.
Due to the cost of the excursion\, small amounts can be paid off regularl y through 'Fees in Advance.'
Full payment is due by the end of Term 3 - Friday 18th September.

\;By giving parental permission t o attend the Camp\, parents &\; students are agreeing to follow Code of Conduct Behaviour expectations.
After Friday 8th May (deposit due d ate)\, all families who have completed the permission note &\; paid the deposit will be sent additional forms. These must be completed &\; ret urned by the end of term 3 - Friday 18th September. Students cannot attend camp without returning these forms.

Our annual Athletics Carnival has been organised for our sch ool at Hunter Sports Centre on Monday 15th June\, 2026. The annual athletics carnival is a school event\, and all studen ts turning 8 to 13 years old this calendar year are expected to att end the carnival.
To maximise the time we have at Hunter Sports Cent re\, students are required to be at school by 8:20am.

Venue/sDear families\,
We are so excited to be getting closer to showcasing our dance to our families\, friends and wider community. Ou r rehearsal date will be on Tuesday the 26th of May from 10:10am to 10:20a m at Laycock St Theatre\, with students needing to be at the theatre at 9: 30am.
Transport to this rehearsal will be provided via private vehic le\, we recommend carpooling where you are able. Students will be met out the front of Laycock St Theatre by Miss Matthews and she will remain with the group when they go inside the theatre. \;
Parents are advise d that they are not permitted inside the theatre during this time but are to remain close by to collect students after the rehearsal is finished.
More information regarding costuming and hair requirements will be sen t out to families soon. \;
