On arriving at Kiama\, our itinerar y will include walking from the train station to Surf Beach for \;recess and organised activi ties on the sand or for a play in the park. \;Any play on fixed equip ment will be supervised. \;Then we will walk around the headland to t he Blow Hole and then back to Black Beach\, lunch and an ice-cream before catching the train at 1.50pm arriving in Berry at 2.12pm and then walking back to school. \;

Following our amazing performanc es at the 2024 Far South Coast Dance Festival\, Miss Mel has tentatively e ntered our Stage 1 (Shake your Tailfeather) and Stage 2 (Dance with Barbie ) items in the 2025 Shoalhaven Eisteddfod. This is a friendly local compet ition that encourages performers from all over the area to strut their stu ff for the audience and adjudicators. The event would give the students an other chance to perform and will serve as a great warm up for the 2025 dan ce festival.
The date for the dance section for school groups will b e held on Thursday May 15th at the Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre in Boma derry and details for travel etc will follow. For now\, we need to know wh o will be available to perform so we can start rehearsing again and re blo ck any positions that may need to be changed. Costuming would be the same as previous performances.

Commitments:
The dates of the festival are Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd July ( Week 10\, Term 2). We will only be participating on one of those days (tbc ).
- Students will need to commit to rehearsals during lunch and rec ess.
- Students may have time out of class for rehearsals.

As part of Berry PS AFL progra m we will be participating in the Paul Kelly Cup. \; The Paul Kelly Cu p is a contact sport and is the largest AFL primary school competition in New South Wales and the ACT and is for students in Years 5 and 6.
The Paul Kelly Cup consists of 12 player teams competing in round robin carnivals against schools in our region. Games are played on a smal ler field using modified 12-a-side rules. \; Each team will play a min imum of three games on the Gala Day.
Winning teams progre ss to a South Coast final in Ulladulla on Wednesday 11 June\, and then a S tate Final in Term 3.
While at school students will be pa rticipating in training. Remembering this is a contact sport and efforts w ill be made to minimise the possibility of injury\, however\, there will b e some inherent risk. \; Students will be required to wear mouthguards whenever participating in training sessions or the gala day.

Paul Kell y Cup is a contact sport and is the largest AFL primary school competition in New South Wales and the ACT and is for students in Years 5 and 6.
< p>The Paul Kelly Cup consists of 12 player teams competing in r ound robin carnivals against schools in our region. Games are played on a smaller field using modified 12-a-side rules. \;Each team will play a minimum of three games on the Gala Day.
Winning team pro gresses to the state final in Sydney on 30th July.
While at school students will be participating in training. Remembering this is a contact sport and efforts will be made to minimise the possibility of in jury\, however\, there will be some inherent risk. \;Students will be required to wear mouthguards whenever participating in training sessions or the gala day.

The Scheme is conducted over 5 days. Students will participate in two 45 minute sessions each day\, a total of 90 minutes each day. The Scheme runs from 12.30 – 2.00pm each day\, students will walk down to the pool at the end of lunch and be back at school by 2.30pm.

Our annual end of year excursion to the Jamberoo Action Park for Stage 3 students wi ll be on Thursday 4th December\, 2025. \;The day is scheduled for onl y primary school students (no high school students). \;
Students will be partic ipating in unstructured swimming activities at Jamberoo Action Park.&n bsp\;Unstructured swimming activities are free swimming activities su pervised by teachers. Prior to participation\, all students nominated on t his form by their parent/carer as being a swimmer will be required to part icipate in a pre-activity swimming assessment – The Water Survival Chall enge. \;If you require further details about the challenge don't hesi tate to contact your child's classroom teacher.

At 6 pm it&rsquo\;s time to say good-bye to all the parents as we move inside t he Hall for a sit-down Pizza with some crowd favourite toppings.
Aft er dinner get ready to bust out your best dance moves. There will be some other fun activities to look forward to too.
Around 8.00 pm\, we inv ite the Year 6 Parents &\; Carers back for the traditional family dance \, plus viewing space available from the Gallery for the onlookers. \ ;It all wraps up around 8.30 pm.

We are beginning preparations fo r our school Dance Troupe\, which will once again participate in the Far S outh Coast Dance Festival held in Batemans Bay. Students from Years 2 to 6 are eligible to take part in this event.
Festival Dates
The festival will run on Tuesday 23\, Wednesday 24 a nd Thursday 25 June (Week 10\, Term 2). Our school will perform o n one of these days (to be confirmed).
Commitment Requirements
Students selected for the troupe will be expected to attend regular rehearsals during lunch and recess. Rehearsals will begin i n late Term 1 and continue through to Week 10\, Term 2.
To minimise disruption to classroom learning\, students may also be required to attend before school rehearsals or\, if necessary\, a S aturday rehearsal. In addition to these rehearsals\, there may be some withdrawal from class time to rehearse. \;
Due to limited rehearsal opportunities and the complexity of routines\, consistent attend ance is essential. If a pattern of missed rehearsals deve lops\, the coordinating teachers &mdash\; Miss Mel\, Mrs Killen and Mrs Sm ith &mdash\; may recommend that a student withdraw from the troupe.

On Thursday 23 April 2026\, the Arts Unit will be delivering a Prima ry Debating Workshop at Bomaderry Public School. This will involve a full day of coaching and practice with some of the state&rsquo\;s most senior a djudicators and coaches.
The day will cover all the things students need to know for primary school debating including rebuttal\, arguments\, definitions\, and speakers'\; roles\, as well as a few games and activi ties and a chance for every single student to deliver a short debating spe ech and get some feedback.
