Intensive Swimming Program 2024 - Kinder transition students
Our Intensive Swimming Program for all grades commences on Monday 1 4 October until Friday 25 October 2024. Kinder transition students will at tend on Thursdays 17 and 24 October. Travel will be by bus and we will be swimming both days from 1:00pm - 2:00pm.
The cost of the bus travel and hire of swimming instructors will be complimentary to ensure that this essential program is affordable for all families. The total cost per stud ent is $10.00\, which covers pool entry.

CDP presents Tall Stories'\; production of The Gruffalo\, based on the award winning picture book by Julia Donaldson &\; Axel Sc heffler\, live on stage at The Glasshouse.
Our school was successful in obtaining a Grant from Coastline Community Foundation\, so there will be no charge for this excursion. \;
On Thursday 14th November\, K-6 Birpai Buddies will particip ate in a Cultural Immersion Day in Port Macquarie. This is an indigenous p rogram that gives our Birpai Buddies the opportunity to experience first h and cultural living and lifestyle. Our Birpai Buddies\, together with Abor iginal students from Comboyne\, Beechwood and Long Flat Public Schools\, s upported by Aboriginal student mentors from Wauchope High School\, will pa rticipate in a cultural art activity and take part in a bushwalking advent ure guided by Aboriginal leaders. Students will need to be at Wauchope Hig h School by 8:15am and the bus will be leaving at 8:30am sharp to make the most of the experience. Students will return to Wauchope High School at a pprox. 2:30pm where they can be picked up by parents/carers. The cost of t his excursion is free.
Year 5 and Year 6 student have been invited to attend a mati nee performance of 'Rock of Ages - Teen Edition Musical' by \;Wauchop e High School students.
Our students will be transported to and from Wauchope High School by their bus and accompanied by Mrs Hudson.
Th ere is no cost involved in this excursion.

Bago Small Schools Swimming Carnival
Congratulations! Your child has been selected to represent H untingdon Public School at the District Swimming Carnival to be held at Po rt Macquarie Public Pool on Friday 21 February\, 2025. Events start at 9:3 0am\, parents are asked to have their child at the pool by 8:55am.
P ool entry is $5.10 for competitors\, $1.80 for spectators\, to be paid at the pool.
Parents are asked to sit on the grassed area and students will be seated in the grandstand with Team Managers.
Ms Sumarah Vica ry from Comboyne Public School is our Team Manager and will be wearing a C omboyne Public School shirt.

Our Intensive Swimming Program for all grades commences on Monday 3 0 October until Friday 24 October 2025. Kinder transition students will at tend on Friday 24 October. Travel will be by bus \;from 11:00am - 2:3 0pm.

We will join biology teachers Oesoph A. Gus and Dewey Dean f or a brilliantly grosstacular tour of the human digestive system - with sk etches\, songs and sensational science at The Glasshouse\, Port Macquarie.
State Athletics Sydney Olympic Park
On Tuesday 18 November\, the Birpai Buddies will participate in a Cultural Immersion Day at Lake Cathie Foreshore Reserve. This is an indigenous program that gives our Birpai Buddies the opportunity to experi ence first hand cultural living and lifestyle. Along with Aboriginal stude nts from Comboyne\, Long Flat\, Rollands Plains and Beechwood Public Schoo ls\, as well as our Aboriginal student mentors from Wauchope High School\, our Birpai Buddies will learn about the traditional foods that were eaten along the coast\, the traditional hunting and gathering methods with a fo cus on fishing and lots more.
Students will need to be at Wauchope H igh School by 8:40 am and the bus will be leaving at 8:50 am to make the m ost of the experience. Students will return to Wauchope HS at approximatel y 3:00 pm.
The cost of this excursion is free (fully subsidised by H untingdon PS).
Students must wear appropriate clothing including enc losed shoes. They will be wading in shallow water so board shorts and a to wel are recommended. They will also need a packed recess and lunch\, bottl e of water and a hat &\; sunscreen.
Students will be fishing and if they are lucky enough to catch a fish we need your consent for them to bring it home\, as well as a small esky/freezer bag to store it in.
Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend\, we ask that you meet us at Lake Cathie Foreshore Reserve at 10:00 am.
Congratulations to our students who have worked hard to fill the Huntingdon High Five barrel. We would like to reward them with a morn ing of fun playing mini golf.

They will be sup ervised and transported to &\; from the event by Mrs Alyson Hudson and Mrs Mel Kennedy.
Congratulations! Your child has been selected to represent H untingdon Public School at the District Swimming Carnival to be held at Po rt Macquarie Public Pool on Friday 20 February\, 2026. Parents are asked t o transport their children to and from the pool. Events start at 9:30am.
Pool entry is $5.50 for competitors\, $2.00 for spectators\, to be pa id at the pool.
Relay order for Huntingdon Public School
Our 3-6 Birpai Buddies are invited to spend the day at Wauch ope High School.
They will be spending the day learning traditional games and activities that they can then share with Huntingdon students. Th ey will be accompanied by Mrs Hudson.
This year\, our Y ears 4-6 students have the exciting opportunity to attend a two-night\, th ree-day camp\, alongside fellow Years 4-6 students from Long Flat Public S chool and Rollands Plains Upper Public School. \;
The Coffs Coast Adventure Cent re is a privately-run camp venue offering a variety of acc ommodation\, meals\, and adventure activities. Camp costs include bus tran sport to and from Wauchope\, five catered meals each day\, dorm-style acco mmodation\, and a range of exciting activities such as fencing\, Foosball\ , organised games\, sky wire\, muddy commando\, canoeing\, and more. Inclu ded as part of the camp experience is an off-site excursion to the Coffs C oast Wildlife Sanctuary.
Thanks to the generous support of our P&\;C and the school\, the total cost of the camp has been signi ficantly subsidised\, reducing the fee to families to $225 per student&mdash\;less than half the original price.
To secure your child&rsquo\;s place\, we ask parents to confirm par ticipation by making a non-refundable $25 deposit as soon as possible or to inform us if your child will not be attending. O nce the deposit has been receipted and acknowledged by the school\, you ma y either continue with gradual payments through our convenient system or c hoose to pay the full remaining balance in one payment.

With a surprising cult following\, some call the m &ldquo\;Water Bears\,&rdquo\; while others affectionately refer to them as &ldquo\;Moss Piglets.&rdquo\;
We are excited to announce that our students and staff will be attending a performance title d Moss Piglet at the Glasshouse in Port Macquarie. Thanks to a ge nerous grant from Coastline Community Foundation \, the cost of this excur sion has been significantly reduced\, making this enriching experience eve n more accessible.
Our Year 5 and Year 6 students will be participating in the 2026 Premier's Debating Challenge - Primary Workshop Program at Laurieton Public School.
The day will cover all the things students need to kn ow for primary school debating including rebuttal\, arguments\, definition s and speakers' roles\, as well as a few games and activities and a chance for every student to deliver a short debating speech and get some feedbac k.
