Students will look at the factors that led the women to migrate fro m Ireland\, what their journey was like and what happened to them once the y were here. They will look inside the Barracks and see the current exhibi tion as viewing a range of sources\, including some of the objects these w omen brought with them. Students will also hear from an ancestor of one of the women and consider the importance of oral history. Finally they will complete an empathy activity by considering what they would put in their t runks if they were migrating to another country\, in a similar situation t o these women.
Arou nd 30 - 40% of children under 6 years can have otitis media or a conductiv e hearing loss at any given time. \; \;
An important preventative measure is to teach corr ect nose blowing procedures. The lesson will involve showing students how to blow their nose corre ctly to help keep their nose and ears clear. \;

The School Spectacular rehearsal will take place on Friday\, 31st October from 1:30 to 2:00pm at the Orange Function Centre.

Canobolas High School has invited Stage 3 to a hands on cook ing experience at their school. \;
The session is a great opport unity for students explore the facilities\, meet the staff and get a taste of secondary school life.
A bus will collect the students at 9am fr om Mullion Creek where they will travel into Canobolas High School. Studen ts will return to Mullion Creek at approx. 11.30am.
Mullion Creek students will be attending a rehearsal for the School Spectacular on Wednesday 19th November at the Orange Civic Theatre \, running from 9:30am to 2:30pm.
As in previous years\, we kindly a sk parents to drop off and pick up their children at the front of the libr ary&mdash\;drop-off at 9:30am\, and pick-up at 2:30pm.
Please see yo ur child&rsquo\;s classroom teacher to have their name marked off on arriv al and departure.
Students will need to bring recess\, lunch\, and a water bottle for the day.
Students are required to arriv e at 5.30pm for the evening performances. More details to be advised when we receive them. \;
Costumes have been arranged by the school. K -1 and 4-6 will require black pants/shorts. All other items will be provid ed by the school.
We are excited for our Kinder- Year 1 end of year excursion that will take place at the Wellington Caves on Friday 28 November!
Location: Wellington Caves. The students will tour the Ca thedral Cave\, an epic underground journey through the biggest and most fa mous of the caves. They will also enjoy the beautiful Osawano Japanese Gar dens where they will explore nature and observe local wildlife and if time permits\, they will take a step back 400 million years and uncover the se crets of ancient sea creatures on the Fossil Trail. \;

The OSSA Cross Country carnival will be held on Friday 27th March (T1Wk9)\, at the Cudal RECREATION GROUNDS\, &ldquo\;Dean Park&rdquo\ ;.

This is a whole OSSA event with our three OSSA groups attending. The Peter Ferguson perpetual trophy will be up for grabs once again!

OSSA Gold athletics carnival will be held on Thursday 19th M arch 2026 at Waratah'\;s sports ground for students who qualified from Mullion Creek athletics carnival.
Students and parents go directl y to Waratahs Sports Grounds (private transport)
Please be at Waratahs no later than 8:30am if competing in the 1500m\, first marshalling call for other events at 9:00am. If it becomes necessary to postpone the carnival an announcement will be made on radio 105.1 2GZ before 7.30am.
The carnival will commence at 9am
Full sp orts uniform is to be worn including joggers/running shoes (no school shoe s/boots or slip on shoes).
Please make sure students have a hat\, sunscreen and plenty to drink.
Students will be competing in bot h track and field events at the carnival.

The Rotary Club of Orange North have facilitated with the Un iversity of Newcastle to create a Discovery Day. \;
The day will be held at the Orange Function Centre from 9.30am-2:30pm. \;
