COMPETITORS ONLY
PURPOSE OF THE SWIMMING CARNIVAL :
The school swimming carnival is competitive and run onl y to provide students the opportunity to qualify for the zone swimming car nival.
ELIGIBILITY:
To participate in the carnival\, students must meet the following criteria:
Age Requirement: Students turning 8 years and above are eligible to compete.
Swimmin g Proficiency: Participants must be able to confidently swim a di stance of 50 metres.
Participation Commitment: Only students who are com peting on the day will be allowed to attend. No 'spectating only' students will be permitted\, ensuring the focus remains on the participants and th e events.
EVEN T CATEGORIES:
The carnival will feature a variety of swim ming events to cater to different skill levels and interests. These events include:
Freestyle
Backstroke
Breaststroke
Butterfly
Relay Races
Students swim in the age group they turn in 2025. i.e. 12 years - born in 2013.

*The pool entry fee cannot be paid on the day at the venue\, it must be paid in advance to the school.
Students travelli ng by bus to the pool are asked to be at school by 8:45am. Buses depart sc hool at 9am sharp.
VENUE:
Please be advised that due t o a change of venue\, the pool available for use is only 25 meters long. A s a result\, students will need to either perform a tumble turn or touch t he wall and push off again to complete two laps of the pool. Please note t hat tumble turns are optional. \; \;

Safety is ou r top priority. A qualified lifeguard and staff will be present to ensure the well-being of all participants. We ask that parents remind their child ren about the importance of following safety instructions and guidelines p rovided by the staff.

Students involved in the Children&rsquo\;s University Newcastle ( CU) are encouraged to connect with new learning opportunities and discover what educational events/experiences they can do at home and in their loca l and regional areas.
Children can also be connected to learning act ivities across Australasia through the CU web portal. Children&rsquo\;s Un iversity (Newcastle) acknowledges learning and counts activities outside y our day-to-day schoolwork\, whether that be before school\, lunch time\, a fter school\, or in the school holidays. The best part about Children&rsqu o\;s University is that you get to choose what activities you would like t o do\, when and how you would like to do them.
All children that joi n receive a passport to log all their hours of learning. There are certifi cate levels up to 1\,000 hours so children can keep moving through the dif ferent levels over many years. A community graduation ceremony is held in Term 4.

Central Coast Primary Schools have been planning a special m usical event for 2025\, the Central Coast Choral Festival. Some of our Yea r 3-6 choir students are being invited to perform at this event with a com bined schools choir of approximately 250 students. This exciting series of concerts\, that will involve 36 Central Coast public schools in total\, w ill take place at The Art House in Wyong during October.
Thi s is a special event\, and open to students by invitation only. As such\, students need to be committed to practices and performances. This includes 2 recess choir rehearsals every week with the occasional extra one as nee ded. Participation will also be dependent on the students&rsquo\; appropri ate behaviour at school.
Our performance will be on \;
Thursday 16th October\, 2025 at < strong>The Art House\, Wyong.
Parents will be able to purchase tickets for the concert and will need to collect student s after the performance from The Art House in the evening. Tickets will go on sale around one month before the performances from the Art House.
All participating students are asked for a payment of $30.00 to cover administrative costs of the festival such as venue hire\, scaffold hire\, sound and lighting. Students will also receive a 2025 Cent ral Coast Choral Festival t-shirt that they will get to keep. \;
Payments need to be made by Friday 2nd May\, 2025 . \;
In preparation for this performance\, three combined rehear sals with other participating schools will take place. The dates of our th ree rehearsals are:
Rehearsal 1: Friday 30th May\, 2025 at Blue Haven Public School

Our rehearsals so far have been very successful! It is wonderful t o hear how the choir has improved since our first rehearsal earlier in the year. We have now learnt thirteen songs\, some with quite complicated har monies and some with fun choralography. The students have worked very hard \, have learnt so much and are now getting excited about our performances!
FINAL REHEARSAL and PERFORMAN CE
This final rehearsal will be an ALL DAY rehearsal at The Art House on the performance day. At this rehearsal the students will have the opportunity to practise their performance on the special scaffold that will be set up for the massed choir. The students will then perform in a matinee and an evening show the SAME DAY.

Scenic World Blue Mountains
Students will enj oy the breathtaking views and experiences offered by Scenic World Blue Mou ntains. They'll have the chance to experience 1-2 of the following: the Sc enic Railway\, the world’s steepest passenger railway\, \;the Sceni c Cableway and Skyway\, providing unparalleled views of the ancient rainfo rest and the iconic sandstone cliffs. \;

COMPETITORS ONLY
PURPOSE OF THE SWIMMING CARNIVAL :
The school swimming carnival is competitive and run onl y to provide students the opportunity to qualify for the zone swimming car nival.
ELIGIBILITY:
To participate in the carnival\, students must meet the following criteria:
Age Requirement: Students turning 8 years and above are eligible to compete.
Swimmin g Proficiency: Participants must be able to confidently swim a di stance of 50 metres.
Participation Commitment: Only students who are com peting on the day will be allowed to attend. No 'spectating only' students will be permitted\, ensuring the focus remains on the participants and th e events.
EVEN T CATEGORIES:
The carnival will feature a variety of swim ming events to cater to different skill levels and interests. These events include:
Freestyle
Backstroke
Breaststroke
Butterfly
Relay Races
Students swim in the age group they turn in 2026. i.e. 12 years - born in 2014.

Note: If your child will be catching the bus to the venue and being privately transport ed home\, or vice versa\, you are still required to pay $20.00.
*The pool entry fee for students cannot be paid on the day at the venue\, it must be paid in advance to the school.
Stud ents travelling by bus to the pool are asked to be at school by 8:45am. Bu ses depart school at 9am sharp. \;

PARENT/CARER SPECTATORS:
Parents are welcome to atten d to watch their child complete in the carnival. Please be advised\, Wyong Pool charges a spectating fee of $3.80. This can be paid upon entry at the gate.

Safety is our top priority. A qualified lifeguard and staff will be present to ensure the well-being of all parti cipants. We ask that parents remind their children about the importance of following safety instructions and guidelines provided by the staff.
