This program is a two-day and one-night excursion. \n\nOn the first day\, stu dents will meet staff from ‘The Crossing’ and will be transported by m ini bus to ‘The Crossing’ sign on Nutley’s Creek Road. They will wal k approximately one hour from this sign to the camp. For the walk\, studen ts will need covered shoes\, a hat\, a light long-sleeved shirt and pants\ , and at least one litre of water. Insect spray is recommended to protect from ticks. \n\nOn arrival\, students will eat lunch and receive a camp to ur. After lunch\, they will receive canoe training and paddle to the Landc are site. Shorts will be required for this activity. Afternoon and evening activities include a rotation through kitchen prepping for dinner\, garde n planting\, mulch making and tree planting. The activities after dinner i nclude a balance track and campfire games. \n\nDay two begins with a pack- up and clean before a half-day guided walk back to school. Students will c ross two flat water river fords that can be up to waist deep at the beginn ing of the walk. We expect to arrive back at school by around 1.30 pm. Par ents may collect students at this time or use their regular going-home rou tine at 3.15 pm. \n \nThis fantastic program requires physical and behavi oural demands. Students are only welcome to attend by invitation. Please t ake the time to consider and discuss with your child the suitability of th eir skills and abilities regarding following instructions\, swimming\, pad dling and walking. All students are encouraged to participate and embrace the challenges of this program\, and adjustments will be made to ensure th at all students can participate safely. \n\nAll students have completed th e program in the past and are strongly encouraged to do so this year. The program will only be cancelled in the case of extreme weather and is likel y to go ahead in rain or cold conditions. \n\nThe requirements for each ch ild to bring along on the excursion are attached and will also be printed and sent home.\n\nThis is an optional program\, and therefore\, any studen t whose behaviour is unacceptable will not be invited to participate as th is is a demanding program.

They will walk ap proximately one hour from this sign to the camp. For the walk\, students w ill need covered shoes\, a hat\, a light long-sleeved shirt and pants\, an d at least one litre of water. Insect spray is recommended to protect from ticks. \n\nOn arrival\, students will eat lunch and receive a camp tour. After lunch\, they will receive canoe training and paddle to the Landcare site. Shorts will be required for this activity. Afternoon and evening act ivities include a rotation through kitchen prepping for dinner\, garden pl anting\, mulch making and tree planting. The activities after dinner inclu de a balance track and campfire games. \n\nDay two begins with a pack-up a nd clean before a half-day guided walk back to school. Students will cross two flat water river fords that can be up to waist deep at the beginning of the walk. We expect to arrive back at school by around 1.30 pm. Parents may collect students at this time or use their regular going-home routine at 3.15 pm. \n \nThis fantastic program requires physical and behavioura l demands. Students are only welcome to attend by invitation. Please take the time to consider and discuss with your child the suitability of their skills and abilities regarding following instructions\, swimming\, paddlin g and walking. All students are encouraged to participate and embrace the challenges of this program\, and adjustments will be made to ensure that a ll students can participate safely. \n\nAll students have completed the pr ogram in the past and are strongly encouraged to do so this year. The prog ram will only be cancelled in the case of extreme weather and is likely to go ahead in rain or cold conditions. \n\nThe requirements for each child to bring along on the excursion are attached and will also be printed and sent home.\n\nThis is an optional program\, and therefore\, any student wh ose behaviour is unacceptable will not be invited to participate as this i s a demanding program.

The team will compete against Narooma Public School on Tuesday\, March 11 2025\, at Dickinson Oval\, Bermagui. Players will atte nd school as usual and walk to the oval at approximately 9:30 a.m.\, retur ning at the end of the day'\;s play.

Students must wear appropria te and protective clothing and bring sun protection\, food\, and drink. It is mandatory for all students to wear a genital protector (commonly known as a '\;box'\;) while batting. Long pants are highly recommended to avoid discomfort when the students are wearing pads. The school will prov ide all necessary equipment\, but students are welcome to bring their own cricket kit if they have one.

Mr. McLean will be coordinating the te am and supervising the students on the day of the match.

Please note that this game is part of the NSW State Knockout Competition\, which focu ses on progressing to higher levels of play. Only 11 students will be on t he field at any one time\, meaning there will be at least one student off the pitch during the game. As a result\, not all students will have equal game time. As a team\, we will emphasise doing our best\, respecting umpir e decisions\, and supporting one another.

The excursion allows students to see first-hand t he workings of the Central Waste Facility (landfill site near Wolumla)\, t he Merimbula Organics (FOGO) site and the transfer and community recycling centre. \;


The Waste Strategy Coordinator and Wast e Education Officer from Bega Valley Shire Council will guide students thr ough the working sites and speak about the management strategies for the d ifferent waste streams in our local area. \;


At the M erimbula site students can learn about the process of turning FOGO into co mpost\, the issues with contamination\, community recycling streams such a s e-waste\, metals and other household items\, and tour the community recy cling centre. \;


At the Wolumla CWF site students can learn about landfill design\, current management\, landfill gas capture\, leachate capture\, and the effects of landfill on the environment. \;

There is no cost for this excursion\, Bega Valley Shire Council is paying for the bus.

Miss Alice Carmichael will be coordinating the teams and providing supervision throughout the day\, as well as another staff member.

ALL students must travel by bus\, departing from Berma gui Public School at 7:30am sharp. Please ensure your child meets Miss Car michael at the top school gates at 7.20am for a swift dep arture. Games will commence at 9.30am. The expected return time will be be tween 3.45pm and 4pm. A notification will be sent out via School Bytes on the afternoon of the event with a confirmed arrival time.  \;Studen ts will not arrive back in time for regular school pick up / buses\, paren ts and carers will need to arrange collection from Bermagui Public School top gate upon their return.

During the competition\, only seven students will be on the court at a ti me\, meaning there will always be at least two players rotating off. In this env ironmental science extension program\, students will take on the challenge of learning about the wide variety of invertebrates at Bournda and their habitats. Students are shown how to safely search for and catch invertebra tes before beginning to collect and record what they find. Students are gi ven the choice to record their scientific findings using digital photograp hy or through sketches. They will collect data on the different species an d extend their learning through conversations with BEEC staff. Students wi ll then take their specimens to the science lab at Bournda Environmental E ducation Centre where they can further examine their invertebrates using a high-powered digital microscope from the Atlas of Life. Our school team will be competing in the mixed division\, with the winner of the day crowned South Coast Champion and awarded the trophy. The event will follow a round-robin knockout format\, with the first game scheduled to start at 9:50 am and the final expected to be played around 1:30 pm. Students will need to meet \;Mrs Osgood \;at 9:15 am to complete a warm-up before ou r first game.

Please note that t his is a competitive event. Only twelve students can be on the field at an y one time\, meaning there will always be several students on the sideline s. As a result\, playing time will vary\, and not all students will have e qual time on the field.

Student s will need to bring plenty of snacks for fruit break\, recess\, and lunch \, as well as an extra water bottle. A canteen will also be available on t he day. Players are required to wear football boots or sports shoes and mu st have a mouthguard. Sun protection\, including a hat and sunscreen\, is also essential.

Traditionally\, Year 6 students participate in an environmen tal education program with Dean and Annette Turner at &lsquo\;The Crossing &rsquo\;\, which is a two-day and one-night excursion.

On the first day\, students will meet staff from &lsquo\;The Crossing&rsquo\; and will be transported by mini bus to &lsquo\;The Crossing&rsquo\; sign on Nutley& rsquo\;s Creek Road. They will walk approximately one hour from this sign to the camp. For the walk\, students will need covered shoes\, a hat\, a l ight long-sleeved shirt and pants\, and at least one litre of water. Insec t spray is recommended to protect from ticks.

On arrival\, students will eat lunch and receive a camp tour. After lunch\, they will receive ca noe training and paddle to the Landcare site. Shorts will be required for this activity. Afternoon and evening activities include a rotation through kitchen prepping for dinner\, garden planting\, mulch making and tree pla nting. The activities after dinner include a balance track and campfire ga mes.

Day two begins with a pack-up and clean before a half-day guide d walk back to school. Students will cross two flat water river fords that can be up to waist-deep at the beginning of the walk. We expect to arrive back at school by around 1.30 pm. Parents may collect students at this ti me or use their regular going-home routine at 3.15 pm.

This fantasti c program requires physical and behavioural demands. Students are only wel come to attend by invitation. Please take the time to consider and discuss with your child the suitability of their skills and abilities regarding f ollowing instructions\, swimming\, paddling and walking. All students are encouraged to participate and embrace the challenges of this program\, and adjustments will be made to ensure that all students can participate safe ly.

All students have completed the program in the past and are stro ngly encouraged to do so this year. The program will only be cancelled in the case of extreme weather and is likely to go ahead in rain or cold cond itions.

The requirements for each child to bring along on the excurs ion are attached and will also be printed and sent home.

This is an optional program\, and therefore\, any student whose behaviour is unaccept able will not be invited to participate as this is a demanding program.

Our Stage 3 camp at Jindabyne Sport and Recreation Centre is planned for all Year 5 and Year 6 students from Wednesday\, 22 October to Friday\, 24 October 2025 (two nights). \;

Students will partici pate in a variety of activities over the three days. They include archery\ , circus skills\, initiatives (team-building)\, rogaining (navigation)\, s liders (three-wheeled trikes that drift) and survival skills. \;

This excursion commences and finis hes outside of school hours. Bus departure and arrival times will be confi rmed at a later date\; however\, departure is expected to be around 7:00 a .m. on Wednesday\, and arrival is expected to be around 4:00 p.m. on Frida y. \;

A non-refundable deposit of $100 is due on Tuesday\, 16 September. Full excursion fees must be paid by Friday\, 17 October. \;

A school uniform is not required for this excursion.

Parents must create an account on the NSW Sport and Recreation portal to register their child. \;

Your child has been invit ed to participate in the 2026 Eurobodalla Netball Schools Cup\, which will take place on Tuesday\, 24 March 2026 at the Bro ulee Netball Courts. We have entered two mixed teams in the non-c ompetitive division\, where they will play against other schools in the re gion.

Please note that due to team and transport limits\, < span style=\"color: rgb(226\, 80\, 65)\;\">only 20 students will be able t o attend the competition. Twenty-six students have been in vited\, and places will be allocated in the order that permission notes ar e returned. Once the first 20 spots are filled\, no more online permission s will be accepted.  \;However\, any additional students will be place d on a reserve list. If a confirmed participant withdraws before the event \, students on the reserve list will be contacted.

Miss Alice Carmichael will be coordinating the teams an d providing supervision throughout the day\, as well as another staff memb er.

ALL stude nts must travel by bus\, departing from Bermagui Public School at 7:30am s harp. Please ensure your child meets Miss Carmichael at the School top gates at 7.20am for a swift departure. Game s will commence at 9.30am. The expected return time will be between 3.45pm and 4pm. A notification will be sent out via School Bytes on the afternoo n of the event with a confirmed arrival time.  \;Students will not arrive back in time for regular school pick up / buses\, parents and carer s will need to arrange collection from Bermagui Public School top gate upo n their return.

During the competition\, only seven students will be on the court at a time\, meaning there will always be at least two players rotating off. A substitution sy stem will be in place\, so playing time may not be evenly distributed amon g all participants. The focus of the day will be on teamwork\, sportsmansh ip\, accepting umpire decisions\, and encouraging one another as a team.

Families and carers are also wel come to attend to support\, help with scorekeeping and cheer on the teams.

We are pleased to inform you that your child has been select ed to represent our school in the cricket team for the PSSA State Knockout competition. The team will compete against Narooma Public School on Monda y\, 23 March 2026 at Bodalla Oval\, Bodalla. Travel to the game will be by private transport.

Students must wear appropriate and protective cl othing and bring sun protection\, food\, and drink. It is mandatory for al l students to wear a genital protector (commonly known as a '\;box'\ ;) while batting. Long pants are highly recommended to reduce discomfort w hen students wear pads. The school will provide all necessary equipment\, but students are welcome to bring their own cricket kit if they have one.< /p>

Mr McLean will coordinate the team and supervise the students on the day of the match.

Please note that this game is part of the NSW Sta te Knockout Competition\, which focuses on progressing to higher levels of play.
