n Springs Public School debating team.
To make the team\, students were given a topic and asked to produce an argument supporting a specific side. They then presented their argumen ts to a small group of students. From this process\, six students were sel ected. We are very proud of their achievement and look forward to an excit ing debating season ahead. Students will rotate roles throughout the compe tition.
The first debate will ta ke place on Tuesday\, 12th May (Week 4\, Term 2) at Regentville Public School. We will be debating Claremont Meadows Public School\, and the topic is &ldquo\;All children should do chores\,&rdquo\; for which we are on the affirmativ e side.

At the conclusion of the rehearsal\, parents will need to collect their child or arrange superv ision for their child between the rehearsal and concert.& nbsp\;A written note will be required if you are NOT picking your child up between rehearsals. Year 5 and 6 Aboriginal students are invited to attend an AN ZAC ceremony about uniting Australians to honour the service and sacrifice of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander veterans. Inspiring guest speake rs will share remarkable stories that resonate with both Indigenous and no n-Indigenous youth.

Year 6 students will embark on an unforgettable adve nture at the Great Aussie Bush Camp in Kincumber! Over the course of the c amp\, students will take part in a variety of exciting and challenging out door recreation activities (list of activities to be provided closer to ca mp). These activities are designed to be fun and memorable while fostering resilience\, personal growth\, communication\, and teamwork skills. All a ctivities are led by highly trained and experienced instructors\, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for students to step out of their comfo rt zones and create lasting memories with their peers. \;

Students who ARE attending the Athletics carnival have the
option to pre order lunch from the canteen at Harold Corr Oval for $10 per
pack.
The canteen will be operational and run by Werrington Little Athletics club.< /p>
Spectators can purchase food throughout the day at anytime.

Next ter m\, our students will have the opportunity to participate in the 800m and 1500m races\, which will conclude our Athletics Carnival track events.
We invite ONLY those competitive students who f eel confident in their ability to complete these distances to join us for this event.
The event structure will run as: Junior girls 8\,9\,10 y rs\, 11 yr girls\, senior girls 12/13 yrs and Junior boys 8\,9\,10 yrs\, 1 1 yr boys\, senior boys 12/13 yr.
In case of unforeseen circumstance s\, we have scheduled a backup date during Week 2 of Term 3.
We will be celebrating a milestone in the educational journe y of our Kindergarten students by reaching 100 days of learning at Jordan Springs Public School.
To celebrate this occasion\, kindergarten stu dents will be engaging in games\, activities and learning from 100 years a go!
To further add to this special occasion\, we encourage students to dress-up for the day following the theme \"What I will look like when I am 100 years old\". Students will need to ensure that school shoes are wo rn.
We cannot wait to celebrate this amazing milestone with our stud ents!

This year s tudents will visit Canberra\, our Nation’s Capital\, to celebrate and co nsolidate our learning. Students will visit a variety of different places to develop their skills and knowledge across the curriculum including Parl iament House\, The Australian Institute of Sport\, Questacon\, National El ectoral Education Centre\, Australian War Memorial and many more exciting destinations!
The total cost for the camp will be $510 pe r student\, which will be inclusive of meals\, accommodation\, transport a nd all activities. Please note that students will be required to supply th eir own crunch and sip and lunch for the first day.
A non -refundable and non-transferable deposit of $250 will be required by Frida y 16th May\, 2025 (Term 2\, Week 3) to secure your child's place. The fina l payment will be due on Friday 27th June\, 2025 (Term 2\, Week 9). Any fa milies who may require financial support are encouraged to contact the sch ool at your earliest convenience.

The Panthers on the Prowl program will see your child attend our Panthers on the Prowl Classroom at the Warami Community Centre within the WSCC at Panthers every afternoon for a term. The program will commenc e on Wednesday 15th October 2025 (Week 1 Term 4).
During this time\, the students will participate in a number of activities based around our PANTHERS framework: Positivity\, Accomplishment\, Nourishment\, Teamwork\, Honour\, Engagement\, Relationships\, Significance. The total cost for the camp will be $475 per stude nt\, which will be inclusive of meals\, accommodation\, transport and all activities. Please note that students will be required to supply their own crunch and sip and lunch for the first day.
A non-refund able and non-transferable deposit of $100 will be required by Friday May 1 \, 2026 to secure your child'\;s place. Congratulations! Your child has be en selected to represent Jordan Springs Public School as a member of our r ecorder ensemble at the prestigious Festival of Instrumental Music\, held at the Sydney Opera House. This event features talented young musicians fr om schools across New South Wales. \;
This event will inc lude an Ensemble at Oxley Park Public School and a performance day at Sydn ey Opera House. \;More information will be sent at a later date for o ur Sydney Opera House Performance in September. \;
The cost as a total for the two events is $71.50 which includes the transport and event expenses. \;

Year 6 students will embark on an unforgettable adve nture at the Great Aussie Bush Camp in Kincumber! Over the course of the c amp\, students will take part in a variety of exciting and challenging out door recreation activities (list of activities to be provided closer to ca mp). These activities are designed to be fun and memorable while fostering resilience\, personal growth\, communication\, and teamwork skills. All a ctivities are led by highly trained and experienced instructors\, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for students to step out of their comfo rt zones and create lasting memories with their peers. \;
