The Choir has been asked to perform at St. Ives Preschool (G arrick Road) on Sunday the 27th of October (Term 4\, Week 2). This is an o pportunity to showcase our school's talent and commitment within the Arts. This provides great publicity for our school to help secure future enrolm ents and give the students an opportunity to perform in front of an audien ce.
Stage 2 students will be going on an excursion to the Field of Mars Reserve on Monday 25th November to take part in the Survivors prog ram\, aligned with our PD/H curriculum

On Wednesday 4th December all students from St Ives Park Public School will attend the Year 6 Mini Fete.
The Year 6 Mini Fete i s an annual event organised by the Year 6 students to raise valuable funds for the Year 6 gift to the school. Attractions at the mini fete include g ame stalls\, food stalls and guessing competitions.
The Year 6 Mini Fete occurs during school hours and is only attended by studen ts. Teachers will be supervising the mini fete and assisting younger stude nts.
On the day of the fete\, students are asked to brin g a wallet or purse with money (coins only) to spend at the fete. It is su ggested that students bring between $5-$15. Please ensure that your child ’s wallet or purse is labeled with their name.
If you have any questions regarding the Year 6 Mini Fete\, please speak to your c hild’s class teacher.

The end of the 2024 school y ear is swiftly approaching. Monday 16 December is SIPPS Party Day. Got Gam e will be leading activities with all students engaging in a variety of we t and dry games. There is no cost to families for this event.
K-2 Students
Please come in school appropriate mufti\, a hat an d runners. K-2 will be rotating through dry activities in the morning sess ion. Students will need to bring swimmers\, a towel and rashie in a clearl y named bag. After lunch\, students will change into their swimmers for we t play.
3-6 Students
Please come to school dr essed in mufti with swimmers underneath. 3-6 will be rotating through acti vities with water in the morning session and will change into dry clothes\ , ready for lunch and then dry games in the afternoon. Runners will be wor n at all times.
Party Lunch
All students will enjoy a party lunch with their class. Each child should bring recess as n ormal and pack a small\, healthy lunch. The canteen will be operating on M onday as usual for lunch orders. In addition\, students may like to bring a small amount of party food to share with the class. The re is no provision for keeping food cold or frozen\, so please factor this into planning for suitable party food options. If your child has dietary needs\, please contact your class teacher directly.
Whole school talent show with a range of singing\, dancing\, drama and other creative acts performed by students in front of the schoo l.

The six student leaders from St Ives Park PS have been invit ed to attend the National Young Leaders Day. This event will be held on Mo nday 25th March 2025 at the INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTRE\, Darling Harb our\, from 8:45am - 2:30pm. This is a great opportunity for the students t o experience motivational speakers who talk about leadership and their per sonal journey through their lives. This year these speakers include:

Congratulations\, your child has been selected to represent SIPPS at the Ku-ring-gai Zone Swimming Carnival. A note detailing which ev ents your child has been selected for will be sent home. \;
Plea se understand that this is a representative sport opportunity and not a co mpulsory event. You can choose for your child to participate. It is a grea t opportunity for students to gain competitive swimming experience against students from other schools in the Ku-ring-gai zone. \;
The car nival will be held at Lane Cove Aquatic Centre. You will need to transport your child to and from the venue. Participants are able to enter the aqua tic centre from 8am with the pool open for a warm up from 8:30am. Marshall ing will begin at 8:45am for the carnival to begin promptly at 9am. Please find attached the order of events. Students in the earlier races will nee d to arrive on time\, however if your child is competing later in the prog ram you can arrive later in the day\, but the school is unable to provide time estimates of events. \;
Each school has a designated space to sit. Please ensure you sit with your child in the allocated area as per the attached seating plan. All SIPPS representatives need to stay togethe r and check in with the team manager on arrival. Parents will need to sign their child in with the team manager on arrival and out when you are taki ng your child home. The team manager will faciliate with ensuring students go to the marshalling area at the correct times. The team manager is not responsible for your child during the carnival. Please ensure you provide adequate supervision for your child through out the carnival. \;
Upon completion of their events parents may return students to school.&nb sp\;
Mrs Taylor will be in attendance at the carnival but will be un dertaking a role to assist in the running of the carnival. \;
To support the Aboriginal Perspectives of the Earth and Sky Science strand\, students will visit the Aboriginal Astronomy Planetarium. This event is an incursion held in the SIPPS hall. \;
Students will explore Indigenous Australian astronomy in this fascinating mobile Pl anetarium show. They will discover how indigenous culture describes conste llations that can’t be seen from northern latitudes and learn about some of the \;Aboriginal stories of the southern skies. The mobile inflat able planetarium dome provides an interactive theatre experience with surr ound sound. Students and teachers will be amazed by the visually stunning projection movies in both standard and 360° immersive 4K 3D digital image s. The Planetarium is equipped with a HEPA air purification system.
We look forward to an amazing experience where students will explore the S tar Stories of the Dreaming\, while taking an adventure through our Solar System. \;
All students who consistently participated in choir this ter m are invited to a choir picnic to celebrate our success together. The pic nic will occur at recess on Tuesday 8th April. Please bring a school safe platter of your choice to the picnic. Some suggestions could be\; fruits\, fairy bread\, chips or juice. Items will need to be delivered to Miss Tip pett when students arrive at school. Please do not bring items that need r efridgeration.
SIPPS will be holding its whole School Cross Country Carniva l at Acron Oval on Thursday 10th April. \;
This is a whole schoo l carnival\, so all students will be in attendance and can choose to parti cipate. \;
Students will arrive as normal in the morning and wil l then be walked down to the oval by the teachers. Students will need to h ave a bag that contains their crunch and sip\, recess and water bottle. St udents will return to school for lunch and an afternoon of learning.

If your child is in Yea r 2 and turning 8 this year\, please discuss with them which option they w ould like to choose.
Students will be sitting in their house areas u nder the clubhouse at the oval. Parents are invited to attend the event an d may sit on the grass areas on either side of the club house. Students ar e not permitted to sit with their parents for the duration of the event. A s it is a school day\, teachers will maintain duty of care. \;
Exciting Colour Run event for K-6 students. This is a major event in the P&\;C Fundraising for 2025.
Students K-6 are asked t o wear a light coloured t-shirt and shorts of their choice to catch the co lour as they run during the event (if wearing white\, please add a singlet underneath). Closed in shoes such as trainers or joggers are required\, h owever\, please be aware they may become colourful during the colour run. Please choose a t-shirt\, closed in shoes\, hat and shorts which are not f avourites or that you wish to use again\, as the colour may not wash out e asily. \;
Students who are sensitive may wish to wear swimming c aps and goggles if they wish. Caps and goggles would need to be sent in wi th the students from home on the day. These are not provide by the school or P&\;C.
Asthmatic students may participate in the non-colour ra ce or the colour race depending on parent permissions.

The event will conclude with a whole school chicken dance\, lead ing you merrily into the School Holidays.

The Great Aussie Bush Camp is an overnight excursion opportu nity for our Stage 3 students. It is a quality outdoor education program t hat offers exciting activities and programs that are fun\, challenging\, d iverse\, relevant and memorable.
This term\, the Pittwater Network of Schools will be hosting a Big Mob Day at West Head\, Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park\, immersing students from Years 3-10 in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples histories and cultures. As part of this day\, students will participate in a range of activities focusing on Aboriginal practices\, connecting to cu lture\, and respect and management of local Country. Students will be part icipating in a short bush walk\, with an opportunity to discover some of t he engravings\, sites and other resources that are found in that area.
Congratulations. Your child has been selected to compete in the Ku-ring-gai Zone Cross Country Carnival at St Ives Showground on Tuesd ay 20th May (wet weather back up date is Tuesday 27th May)
All compe titors will need to be at the grounds by 9:00am and have their name marked off the roll by the team manager. The team manager will be located under the SIPPS shade shelter by the side of the oval. \;
Students wil l be able to walk the course at 9:15am. The first event will commence at a pproximately 10:00am in the following order: \;
Events are expected to finish at approximately 1:00 - 1:3 0 pm. \;
Please ensure your child has adequate water\, food and footwear. Competitors must wear their school sport shirt or school PSSA sh irt. \;
Please ensure that any child who is asthmatic is carryin g their own puffer during the event and remind them to take any pre-medica tion\, if required. \;
SIPPS teachers will be working at the car nival as officials so the supervision of students falls to individual pare nts. The team manager will assist with ensuring students attend their even t but they are not responsible for the care of your child during the event . Parents need to be at the carnival supervising their child or have arran ged for another adult to supervise their child during the carnival. \;
If you are unable to do this\, then children need to attend school as normal. \;
Competing at Zone level is entirely voluntary. If you feel your child is unable to compete at this level\, please do not giv e them permission to attend and we will remove them from the team. \;< /p>
Parents are reminded that students are not to play on the equipment at any time during the carnival and need to remain with the team at all ti mes when not competing.
Please ensure that when you arrive at the ca rnival\, that you sign your child in with the team manager and sign them o ut before you leave. Students may leave the carnival at the conclusion of their event. \;
Students who are placed in the top 6 of their age race\, will earn a place to compete at the Sydney North Area Cross Country Carnival. This will be held Friday\, 13 June at Wyong Race Club\, Wyong. Permission notes will be handed to these competitors on the day. \;

On Monday 16th June we will be conducting our K-6 Athletics Carnival. This year the carnival will be held at Bannockburn Oval\, Pymble . The wet weather back up date is Monday 23rd June. \;

Students in K-2\, not turning 8 this year\, will compete in class races and various activities. These students will be transported to the ground at 10:00am and return at 1:00pm to school. \;

All medical action plans and medication will be taken to the carnival. All students wi th asthma should bring their puffer/medication. \;
The $21 cost for this event covers the hire of the venue and bus transport to and from the ground. \;

On the 19th of June at 10 am\, 3-6 Choir students will walk to Thompson Healthcare and perform. Students will arrive at school as norm al and come dressed in full school uniform. This event is a celebration of their commitment and dedication to choir\, bringing the community togethe r through music.

Students will develop a script about the needs\, habitats and ecosys tem interactions of an invertebrate in the form of a simple information re port. The script will be based on students' observations of invertebrates and the environment. They will create a storyboard that provides an outlin e of the types of scenes that will be used to create the animation. They w ill then make a stop motion animation using plasticine and iPads. \;S tudents will share their animations with the class. \;
The Department of Education has engaged Pixflix Productions to film\, direct and edit a promotional video for the school. This will be uploaded on to the school website and other platforms to promote our scho ol. \;

Book Week Book Parade 2025: Thursday 7/8/25
To celebra te Book Week 2025\, we are inviting all students to dress as their favouri te book character\, or to dress as something that reflects the 2025 theme of Book Week: \;‘Book An Adventure’.
We would love all our SIPPS families to join us for this fun Book Week Event. This year we will celebrate Book Week as part of our Education Week program in Week 3 of Term 3.
Students may wear their book week &nbs p\;costumes to school on the day.
As the weather can be cold in Augu st\, please send along a warm jacket if the costume is “summery” in na ture. Any props needed may be used for the parade only and will be kept in the classroom throughout the day.
This is a fun event celebrating b ooks and a love of reading which does not require a hired or expensive cos tume. Students are asked to carry a copy of their book or a sign stating t he name of their character.
We look forward to seeing all students a nd their families celebrating their favourite books on the day.

pic Park Warm Up Arena. This carnival includes both track and field events
for athletics and enables students to compete in these disciplines agains

Participation is optional
and does require parents to transport and supervise their child while at
the event. Mrs Taylor will be in attendance at the carnival\, but will be
acting in an official role. Supervision of students remains the responsibi

Stage 2 Geography Excursion
As part of our \;unit : Places are Similar and Different\, Stage 2 will be going on an excursion to Clontarf Reserve to explore the different habitats offered along the h arbour foreshore. \;

On Monday 1st December all students from St Ives Park Public School wil l attend the Year 6 Mini Fete.
The Year 6 Mini Fete is a n annual event organised by the Year 6 students to raise valuable funds fo r the Year 6 gift to the school. Attractions at the mini fete include game stalls\, food stalls and guessing competitions.
The Yea r 6 Mini Fete occurs during school hours and is only attended by students. Teachers will be supervising the mini fete and assisting younger students .
On the day of the fete\, students are asked to bring a wallet or purse with money (coins only) to spend at the fete. It is sugge sted that students bring between $5-$15. Please ensure that your child’s wallet or purse is labelled with their name.

What to wear
K-2 Students
Please come in school appropriate mufti\, a hat and runners. K-2 will be rotating thr ough dry activities in the morning session. Students will need to bring sw immers\, a towel and rashie in a clearly named bag. After lunch\, students will change into their swimmers for wet play.
3-6 Students< /strong>
Please come to school dressed in mufti with swimmers undern eath. 3-6 will be rotating through activities with water in the morning se ssion and will change into dry clothes\, ready for lunch and then dry game s in the afternoon. Runners will be worn at all times.
Party Lunch
All students will enjoy a party lunch with their cla ss. Each child should bring recess as normal and pack a small\, healthy lu nch. The canteen will be operating as usual for lunch orders. In addition\, students may like to brin g a small amount of party food to share with the class. T here is no provision for keeping food cold or frozen\, so please factor th is into planning for suitable party food options. If your child has dietar y needs\, please contact your class teacher directly.

Dear Parents and Carers\,
This year our engaged SRC ha ve collaboratively designed a new fitness circuit for the students at SIPP S. We will be painting this circuit onto the concrete under the sails area to support class fitness in 2026.
Current planning is for painting on Friday\, 12th December\, 2025\, SRC students will work with Ms English to paint the predesigned circuit onto the concrete under the sails. Wet we ather backup dates will be Monday 15th or Tuesday 16th December.
Stu dents will be provided with gloves for painting on the day. Students will use paint brushes and rollers supplied by the school to complete the task. Students are requested to wear their school uniform to school each day.&n bsp\;
Students are requested to bring in a bag of their oldest cloth ing and shoes or painting clothes for the project. Please ensure these ite ms will not be needed again\, as there may be drips and drops of paint whi le we are creating the circuit. Pavement paint will be used.

We plan to bring joy and f itness through activity to our K-6 students though our design!

As part of our end of year celebrations we will be holding o ur annual 'SIPPS Got Talent\" show.

On Wednesday 25th February\, AFL NSW will be giving a free c linic to all K-6 students during the school day. This is a wonderful oppor tunity for students to experience an AFL skills session as part of their P DHPE lessons. Each class will attend a 40 minute session with an AFL coach and supervision by their teacher. \;
The six student leaders from St Ives Park PS have been invit ed to attend the National Young Leaders Day. This event will be held on Tu esday 24th March 2026 at the INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTRE\, Darling Har bour\, from 8:45am - 2:30pm. This is a great opportunity for the students to experience motivational speakers who talk about leadership and their pe rsonal journey through their lives. This year's current speakers include:< /p>

The event will commence with a performance by the SIPPS 2026 Choir. Following this\, the Kindergarten students will perform. Then\, al l students\, including guest students who are joining us from Sir Eric Woo dward School\, will parade around the hall in class groups showcasing thei r festive hats. Year 6 will celebrate their final Primary School Festive a nd Easter Hat Parade. During the proceedings\, the Parents and Citizens As sociation will draw the lucky raffle winners\, who will be invited to the stage to collect their prizes. The event will conclude with a whole school chicken dance\, leading you merrily into the school holidays.
On Thursday 26th March our school will celebrate Harmony Day . Students will come in cultural dress if they have something to represent their family's cultural origin or they can wear orange\, the colour used to represent Harmony Day. Please remember students need to wear enclosed s hoes and have their hat for playtime. Students are asked to bring a gold c oin donation which will go to Stewart House Children's Charity. \;
Congratulations\, your child has been selected to represent SIPPS at the Ku-ring-gai Zone Swimming Carnival. A note detailing which ev ents your child has been selected for will be sent home. \;
Plea se understand that this is a representative sport opportunity and not a co mpulsory event. You can choose for your child to participate. It is a grea t opportunity for students to gain competitive swimming experience against students from other schools in the Ku-ring-gai zone. \;
The car nival will be held at Lane Cove Aquatic Centre. You will need to transport your child to and from the venue. Participants are able to enter the aqua tic centre from 8am with the pool open for a warm up from 8:30am. Marshall ing will begin at 8:45am for the carnival to begin promptly at 9am. Please find attached the order of events. \;Please note: The pool will charge a spectator fee for parents on entry to the pool. Competitors can enter for free. \; \;
Each school has a designated space to sit. Please e nsure you sit with your child in the allocated area as per the seating pla n. The seating plan will be forwarded to families as soon as it is availab le from zone officials. All SIPPS representatives need to stay together an d check in with the team manager on arrival. Parents will need to sign in with the team manager on arrival and out when you are taking your child ho me. The team manager will assist with ensuring students go to the marshall ing area at the correct times. The team manager is not responsible for you r child during the carnival. Please ensure you provide adequate supervisio n for your child through out the carnival. \;
Upon completion of their events parents may return students to school. \;

SIPPS will be holding its K-6 Cross Country Carnival at Acro n Oval on 29/04/2026.
This is a whole school carnival\, so all stude nts will attend and participate.
Students will arrive as normal in t he morning and classes will then be walked down to the oval under teacher supervision. Students will need to bring a bag that contains their crunch and sip\, recess and water bottle. Students will return to school for lunc h and an afternoon of learning.

Students will be sitting in their house areas under the clubhouse at the oval under teacher supervision. Parents are invited to at tend the event and may sit on the grass areas on either side of the clubho use. \;

Congratulations. Your child has been selected to compete in the Ku-ring-gai Zone Cross Country Carnival at St Ives Showground on Tuesd ay 12th May (wet weather back up date is Tuesday 19th May)
All compe titors will need to be at the grounds by 9:00am and have their name marked off the roll by the team manager. The team manager will be located under the SIPPS shade shelter by the side of the oval. \;
Students wil l be able to walk the course at 9:15am. The first event will commence at a pproximately 10:00am in the following order: \;
Events are expected to finish at approximately 1:00 - 1:3 0 pm. \;
Please ensure your child has adequate water\, food and footwear. Competitors must wear their school sport shirt or school PSSA sh irt. \;
Please ensure that any child who is asthmatic is carryin g their own puffer during the event and remind them to take any pre-medica tion\, if required. \;
SIPPS teachers will be working at the car nival as officials so the supervision of students falls to individual pare nts. The team manager will assist with ensuring students attend their even t but they are not responsible for the care of your child during the event . Parents need to be at the carnival supervising their child or have arran ged for another adult to supervise their child during the carnival. \;
If you are unable to do this\, then children need to attend school as normal. \;
Competing at Zone level is entirely voluntary. If you feel your child is unable to compete at this level\, please do not giv e them permission to attend and we will remove them from the team. \;< /p>
Parents are reminded that students are not to play on the equipment at any time during the carnival and need to remain with the team at all ti mes when not competing.
Please ensure that when you arrive at the ca rnival\, that you sign your child in with the team manager and sign them o ut before you leave. Students may leave the carnival at the conclusion of their event. \;
Students who are placed in the top 6 of their age race\, will earn a place to compete at the Sydney North Area Cross Country Carnival. This will be held Friday\, 12 June at Wyong Race Club\, Wyong. Permission notes will be handed to these competitors on the day. \;
