will have the opportunity to swim during the day. Events are setup for con
fident swimmers and across the pool for the less confident or non-swimmers
. The shallow pool will be used by a supervising teacher for structured wa
ter activities for younger students throughout the day. \;All children are to be at
school by 8:30 am so that we arrive at the pool by 9:00 am.

sp\;HINTS AND GUIDELINES FOR SPEAKERS \;
- INTRODUCTION: The
Chairman will announce both the Entrant and the chosen topic. Entrants wil
l use the form of address\, &lsquo\;Madam Chairman&rsquo\;. (All the chair
men will be CWA members\, thus female\, but we always try to include at le
ast one male in the 3-person judging panel.)
- TIMING will begin whe
n the Entrant has said &rsquo\;Madam Chairman&rsquo\;. A warning bell will
be rung 30 seconds prior to the end of the time limit.
- USE OF NOT
ES\, PALM CARDS: Their use is up to the competitor\; the best cards have o
nly a few key words on them\, to jog the Speaker'\;s memory. The notes
/ cards should be small enough to not get between the Speaker and his / he
r audience and not distract the audience.
- PRESENTATION: Students n
eed to know that this is a SPEAKING competition- they will not be judged o
n their ability to memorise their speeches\, or to dramatise them. The cri
terion for judging is based on the Entrant being natural\, familiar with w
hat they want to say and talking comfortably with their audience.

nductive Hearing Loss is a fluctuating hearing loss that affects many youn
g children. It limits the conduction of sounds to the inner ear and is usu
ally due to otitis media which is an infection of the middle ear. \;&

Around 30 - 40% of children under 6 years can have otitis med
ia or a conductive hearing loss at any given time. \; \;

This can have a profound impact on their education and
socialisation. \;
\;
An important preventa
tive measure is to teach correct nose blowing procedures. Part of my role
is to visit childcare centres\, preschools and ES1/S1 to give ear health l
essons to your classes. These lessons will involve showing how to blow the
ir nose correctly to help keep their nose and ears clear. The lessons are
conducted on an age-appropriate basis and are adapted to suit the target g
roup. \;

Lessons go for around 20-30 minutes.

Camp Details:

Lake Burrendong Sport and Recreation Centre
- Dates: Monday\, 8 September to Wednesday\, 10 September 2025 (Term 3\, Week 8)
- Cost: The total cost is $250 per student\, but t
hanks to the generous support of our P&\;C\, families will only need to
pay $100.
This camp is a wonderful opportunity for our studen
ts from small rural schools to immerse themselves in the creative and perf
orming arts. It is inclusive and encourages all students with an interest
in the arts to participate.
Mr. Chase will be attending the camp for
the full three days and transportation will be provided via the school bu
s.
To help us finalise arrangements we kindly ask all families to ma

The Cargo Public School Swimming Carnival will be held on Fri
day 6 February 2026 at Cudal Pool. The carnival will commence at
9:00 am sharp and depending on the running of events\, co
nclude around 12:30 pm.
All
children\, Kindergarten to Year 6\, will have the opportunity to swim dur
ing the day. Events are setup for confident swimmers and across the pool f
or the less confident or non-swimmers. The shallow pool will be used by a
supervising teacher for structured water activities for younger students t
hroughout the day.
Students
will need to bring: \;
- Hat\, sunscreen\, swimming cost
ume\, rashie\, goggles\, towel\, sports uniform and plastic bag for wet it
ems of clothing.
- Recess\, lunch and water bottles.
All students will travel to the carnival on the s
chool bus. Parents are encouraged to attend to support our swimmers.
