Students in Stage 3 have the opportunity to work in collabor ation with Brolga Dance Academy\, supported by the NSW Department of Educa tion t learn a fusion of traditional and contemporary dance movement and a pply their knowledge of storytelling through culture.
Your child has been invited to attend the Dubbo Show. In Ter m One Giinmas\, Wilays and Budyabudyas students created an artwork that wi ll be on display for community members to view. \;Students have the c hance to view their own and other’s artworks\, along with exploring the livestock displays and view any performances that are being held during ou r visit.

Our boys touch football team will be playing our first game in the PSSA Knockout Competition against Orana Heights Public School at Ka trina Gibbs fields on Thursday 8th May. \;
The School bus will t ransport students\, leaving by 9:30am\, for an 10am game . We will then re turn to school after the game for a normal school day. Please ensure that your child is at school before this time with everything needed for the ga me. \;

The game time is estimated to be around 11am. We will then be heading straight back to Dubbo\, to arrive at school by 5pm. Arrival time will be communicated to parents via School Bytes and Facebook when we are closer t o DWPS.

Your child has been invited to attend the Boccia Competition . Each year the NSW Department of Education hold a Boccia competition for students with disabilities. Schools enter one team to compete against othe r schools in their area\, with State finals to be held in Sydney during Te rm 3.

Your child h as been invited to participate in the Teddy Bear’s Picnic excursion to W ambangalang Environmental Education Centre. The excursion supports our lea rning about living things. Students will be required to bring a Teddy or s oft toy to join in the picnic and other activities.

Students will participate in the AstroKids Scavenger hunt an d the 3D theatre exploring the solar system. The 3D theatre shows a variet y of short\, animated 3D films featuring a glimpse into the vast complexit y of our Universe. The scavenger hunt takes students on a tour around the visitors&rsquo\; centre looking for clues to solve a variety of puzzles\, unveiling the secret word.

Dream Cricket is a Rotary co-ordinated program that aims to provide school students with special needs with the opportunity to play cr icket. Children with intellectual\, physical\, sensory\, hearing or vision impairments can be involved. Dream Cricket was initiated in 2010 in Bradm an oval by the South Highlands Rotary clubs and the Bradman Foundation. It has since been delivered across Australia and in many parts of the world. Every activity is adjusted to suit the child so that all children with sp ecial needs can participate. Skills include batting\, bowling\, throwing\, catching\, running and fielding.

Attending a school disco is a privilege\, not a right\, therefore\, by signing this note your child will abide by the Sch ool Disco Code of Conduct as follows.
To be eligible to attend a school disco\, a student must:
1. Be present at school on the da y of the disco
2. Have purchased a ticket prior to the disco (not on the night)
3. Have received an invitation to the disco from their c lass teacher.
4. Have the permission note and code of conduct signed by a parent or guardian.
5. Present a ticket upon arrival at the di sco. \;
6. Have satisfactory behaviour at disco.
7. Have s atisfactory attendance at school.
8. Not be under suspension or excl usion.
Sale of tickets
1. Tickets are sold prior to the disco
2. No tickets will be sold at the door.
Arriving at the Disco/ Leaving the Disco
1. Primary disco begins at 4:00pm\, with the doors opening 5 minutes before.
2. Gates will be locked at 4:15pm.
3. No students will be allowed to leave early unless arrang ements are made with the supervising teacher prior to the disco and the ch ild is being collected from the door by a parent/guardian. \;
4. The Disco finishes at 6pm. Gates will open 10 minutes prior for parents/g uardians to collect their child from the hall. \;
5. Parents/gua rdians must promptly collect their children at the completion of the disco .
6. No child will be allowed to walk home along in any circumstance s.
Behaviour at the Disco

The disco will be held from 4:00pm to 6pm\, with the cost of $8\, which will include entry\ , chips and a drink. You are to pick up and drop off your child from the s chool hall at these times.
There will be glow sticks on sale on the night for $1\, with chocolates and lollies as prizes for the best dressed and best dancer!
Attending a school disco is a privilege\, not a rig ht\, therefore\, by signing this note your child will abide by the School Disco Code of Conduct as follows.
To be eligible to attend a scho ol disco\, a student must:
1. Be present at school on the day of the disco
2. Have purchased a ticket prior to the disco (not on the night)
3. Have received an invitation to the disco from their class teacher.
4. Have the permission note and code of conduct signed by a parent or guardian.
5. Present a ticket upon arrival at the disco. \;
6. Have satisfactory behaviour at disco.
7. Have satis factory attendance at school.
8. Not be under suspension or exclusio n.
Sale of tickets

Your child has no minated to be part of Dubbo West Public School debating team to be held at Dubbo North Public School. As preparation we will be attending a training day to get learn about debating and practice before the competition start s. \; \;
Boys and Girls touch football competition. \;
Star ting at 10am\, games will run for approximately 50 minutes (25-minute halv es with a five-minute break)
We will head back to school at the end of the two games. Transport will be via our school bus

This note is to express your interest for your child to atte nd the Stage 3 Canberra excursion this year. If you do not want your child to attend please select no from the options below.
Payment is requi red as follows:
Friday 24th April - $50 deposit (non-refundable*)
Friday 8th May - $100 1st instalment \;
Friday 22nd May - $1 00 2nd instalment
Friday 5th June - $100 3rd instalment
Friday 19th June - $100 4th instalment
Friday 3rd July - $50 final instalm ent
Full payment of $500 will mean that your child place on the excu rsion is secured.
As this excursion cost is already heavily subsidis ed\, there will be no further financial assistance available.
*the $ 50 deposit is non-refundable\, however should the whole excursion be cance lled due to fuel or travel issues\, the entire payment that families have made will be refunded due to excursion cancellation.
